Christopher becomes hyper-aware of his surroundings when he's overwhelmed because he wants to try to distract himself. and he describes everything very detailed like he's focusing really hard on that one thing. Christopher is overwhelmed by the truth. Christopher's unique mind makes him think things through step by step until he arrives at a point that a solution makes sense. To be a good astronaut you have to be intelligent and Christopher is intelligent. This points to Christopher´s growing desire for independence throughout the book, with it showing how being an astronaut would represent the best example of this independence, also, it would be good for Christopher because he would be thousands of miles away from his father. ¨And eventually there is no one left in the world except people who don't look at other peoples faces.¨ (198) 
Christopher´s words are portrayed by showing that he likes little spaces because there would be less people and he wouldn't have to see his father anymore.

“Father had murdered Wellington. That meant he could murder me, because I couldn’t trust him” (122). 

Mark Haddon uses tone to depict the cautiousness and anxiety that Christopher felt after realizing what his father had done. This then conveys the sense of distrust as Christopher describes how his father could no longer be trusted which is a direct consequence of his father’s selfishness.

People are all human, and humans make mistakes, that is what allows them to grow, despite mistakes and lies.

After Christopher’s dad confesses about Wellington(the dog), he adds an important detail: “We all make mistakes, Christopher, you, me, your mum, everyone. And sometimes they’re really big mistakes. We’re only human”(Pg. 122).

Humans are not creatures that are perfect all the time. People lie, cheat, and make mistakes. But people learn from them, it doesn’t matter how bad the mistake is, if someone learns from the mistake, they are not a bad person. Christopher fails to understand this as he does not know how to understand it. This concept is not logical and Christopher is very logical.
