I agree to a large that hands-on experience is more empowering than studying facts from a book. Doing hands-on activities are often more memorable and more engaging than to sit down and study a book. For example, as a student taking geography, I would often have the opportunity go on field trips for geographical investigation. Such trips allowed me to work together with my group members and also to use different tools and equipment in order to solve a question. I find this more beneficial as I could get a better understanding on how to use certain equipment by using it myself rather than to memorise the steps to use it from the textbook. Furthermore, I can also work together with my groupmates which made the activity more fun. Hands-on experience gives me a vivid image on how I am supposed to do something and it is often easier to remember what I was doing. In contrast, studying facts from a book often requires me to memorise many words which could be quite challenging if I do not understand what the information was trying to say. It could also be mundane if one just sit down and read information without doing any experiment. This could also cause the reader to lose his focus and do other things instead, which made him waste his time and result in ineffective study. Therefore, hands-on experience that is more interesting which captures people’s attention is more empowering than studying fact from a book.

I believe that hands-on experience is more empowering than learning facts from a book. A hands-on experience is very different from just learning and studying things from a book. People learn and forget things that they read relatively quickly. But by doing a hands-on experiment people tend to remember things better and learn things faster. It also teaches a person how in a real world context, there are limits and things are not always that simple. They must be able to adapt to different situations which can help them to hone that particular skill quicker. Also, being able to apply what one has learnt is a very practical and crucial skill that one must have in the 21st century. Hence, hands on experience is more useful than studying facts from a book.

I agree to a large extent that hands-on experience is more empowering than studying facts from a book. Firstly, hands-on experience will allow us to learn better. Research has shown that learning by doing help humans perform better. An example of this is that students who physically experience scientific concepts understand them more deeply and score better on science tests. I am personally a slower learner, hence I find it easier for myself to understand and remember a topic or a subject through experience.

Secondly, learning by doing allows students to become personally invested in their own learning process. Becoming actively engaged in their education builds confidence, as the lessons require students to rely on their own abilities to obtain knowledge. That confidence and self-reliance inspires children to embrace the learning process and enthusiastically seek out additional knowledge.

Some may say that studying from books can ensure that accurate knowledges are learnt while hands-on experiences may lead to failure and not able to learn anything useful for it. However, hands-on learning allows students to experiment as they test concepts with tactile equipment, learning as much from their failures as their successes. Therefore, i agree to a large extend that hands-on experience is more empowering than studying facts from a book.

I agree to a large extent that hands-on experience is more empowering than studying facts from a book.
Firstly hands-on activities is able to mimic a real-world scenario. Practice makes perfect, with hands-on learning, one is able to remind oneself the mistakes made previously and thus change for the better.
Secondly, hands-on experience will be more long lasting as hands-on learning are mostly more engaging compared to textbook studying. Hands-on learning allows students to focus on their tasks and not get bored easily. Through the different approach, one can also remember the lesson objectives of a hands-on experience better.
Next, hands-on experience is more empowering than studying facts from a book as students will improve their problem solving skills as well as critical thinking. Doing hands-on activities will not be as smooth sailing as just reading off a textbook. Students tend to face challenges or difficulties in their learning journeys. To overcome these problems, students have to think out of the box and improvise on the spot. Thus, increasing their critical thinking skills as well as problem solving skills.

I agree to a large extent that hands-on experience is more empowering, because having hands-on experience can allow us to apply what we already know by studying facts into our practical life. For example, looking at the picture, we see the woman and her grandson planting. Perhaps they have already read online or through books about farming, and by actually planting the herbs themselves, they apply the knowledge they have already comprehended from the sources.

Looking beyond this picture, in our school environment, we have both hands-on experience and theoretical studies incorporated into some subjects. For example, science subjects such as Biology and Chemistry have theory and practical lessons. For theory lessons, we learn about things in the textbook, for example how the heart pumps blood for biology. We then have practical lessons where we disect a sheep's heart and try to identify the parts of the heart based on our knowledge. This allowed us to be able to further comprehend the topic, as we learn through both listening and seeing - studying the topic and then going through the challenge of identifying the parts of the heart visually based on the knowledge gained.

Beyond that, in our work life, if we wish to be able to learn more about certain topics, we wouldn't restrict ourselves to information we can find in books or online. For example, if a businessman wants to learn how to do accounting, apart from studying it and attending workshops for it, a better way to enhance understanding would be to see how others do it, and then doing it himself to see if he had actually comprehended the idea of how to do accounting.
