This saint's life shows the core belief of revelation because divine revelation occurred when she had three miracles happen to the patients she treated. She also experienced revelation from the kindness she received from her patients and fellow sisters she cared for when she opened up the Sisters of Charity.

An example of another core belief Freedom in her life is when she opened up the first American Catholic parish school for children. God was there with her when she made the decision of opening up the school, in addition to establishing the first American Catholic orphanage. She believed she was fulfilling the hopes of God and herself making these choices.
