One way we are introduced to the film is through the setting of Harold's apartment. We can see that Harold's apartment provides information about his character. This is shown in the film through the dull colours and the minimalistic furnishings. This mimics Harold's bland personality. It shows that he has little to no expressionism, which further reflects upon his social life.
