This is an educational video about traumatic brain injury, courtesy of neuropsychologist Lauren Crisanti at Northwestern Medicine. She explains the mental and cognitive state of individuals with a traumatic brain injury, and how it can be confusing and anxiety-inducing for patients. I think this video is very informative about how family members can support them through the injury and provide various interventions as needed. Traumatic brain injury is very complex, and it can be helpful to be educated on different strategies to support individuals with a TBI.

I find this video both important and educational. While understanding what a stroke is matters, knowing its causes is just as crucial. This video highlights the factors that can lead to a stroke, such as high blood pressure, smoking, and blood clots, helping viewers recognize their risks. It also stresses the urgency of seeking immediate medical attention, potentially saving lives by promoting the FAST method (Face drooping, Arm weakness, Speech difficulty, Time to call 911).

I think that this video shows how fast a person can have a stroke come on and how fast you should act in case anyone you know may have a stroke. It has a very good acronym for the signs of a stroke "Fast" which stands for Face Arms Speech and Time. This is a simple way to remember and to be able to look out for the signs, which is that one side of the face and arms droop and their speech is slurred.

This video is important because it raises awareness about epilepsy, a condition that affects over 3 million Americans (CDC, 2024). It explains the different types of seizures, how they impact individuals, and the various methods for managing and controlling them. This video also walks through the process of diagnosing epilepsy, providing insight into the challenges many patients face. Hearing personal testimonies from those living with epilepsy makes the information more relatable and helps reduce stigma. This topic is especially meaningful to me because my cousin was diagnosed with epilepsy four years ago. Awareness is crucial so that more people understand how to respond when someone around them has a seizure, helping to ensure their safety and well-being. Many people do not know that seizures can look different depending on the type, and recognizing the signs can make a big difference in how someone is treated.

Understanding structural epilepsy is important because it helps identify the root causes of seizures. Which helps leads to more accurate diagnoses and targeted treatments. This knowledge is crucial for effective management, particularly since structural epilepsies often have underlying brain abnormalities that can influence treatment choices. Recognizing the structural cause of epilepsy, can better differentiate between different types of epilepsy. This helps tailor treatment plans.

The video provides a clear and concise overview of epilepsy, a neurological disorder affecting millions worldwide. Dr. Lily Wong-Kisiel, a pediatric neurologist, explains that epilepsy is caused by abnormal electrical activity in the brain, leading to seizures that can range from mild staring spells to severe convulsions. The video covers different seizure types, including focal and generalized seizures, and highlights common symptoms such as confusion, jerking movements, and loss of consciousness. It also dispels myths, such as the misconception that a person can swallow their tongue during a seizure, and provides essential first-aid guidelines. Furthermore, the video discusses treatment options, including medication, surgery, and brain stimulation, emphasizing that many people with epilepsy can manage their condition effectively. More than half the cases are seizure-free after the first medication.

This article is important and very insightful to understand how vision loss can occur after a traumatic brain injury. It is also discusses how difficult it is to diagnose in the emergency room after an accident. The diagnoses of vision loss is also typically delayed because it is not the first thing doctors look for after an accident, because it is typically not the most emergent factor.

This is an educational video based on Generalize Anxiety Disorder (GAD). The video combines illustrations and writing to spread information about about the symptoms and descriptions based on what anxiety may look like. I believe this is a really important video to watch if you have anxiety or are wanting to gain more information on the disorder. I think this video is very important because it explains the range those with Generalized Anxiety may be in. For example, it explains the disorder may be mild or more severe. I like that it explains the vocational issues, such as someone with severe anxiety having issues with daily tasks extending to their job, while on the other hand someone with mild anxiety will be able to continue with their job. I think this is a great video for someone who may think they have anxiety because it also explains the diagnostic criteria for GAD. It is important for those to still get diagnosed, but this video may be a good start. This video not only mentions the causes for GAD, but it also talks about the the types of treatment available and what each treatment consists of. In all I think this video is an important to watch to quickly understand the basic idea of anxiety.

To note this video is from a channel with health professionals inside the united states, which means this video is mostly facts :)

As someone who has been diagnosed with both Anxiety and Depression, it is so important to understand the resources that are out there and ways to navigate through life with these disorders. I really appreciate seeing a video full of people of all genders, ages, races and ethnicities discussing how to deal with these mental disorders. It is truly inspiring, and not something everyone can talk about. Having a video that incorporates so many different people allows for multiple resources to be discussed that maybe just one person wouldn't have thought of. This video was raw and real and I think everyone should watch it!

It explains how researchers are focusing on epigenetic therapy a method that works at the genetic level to address the causes of these conditions. Traditionally, treatments for intellectual disabilities have focused on managing symptoms, but this new approach aims to fix the problem at its source by targeting the genes and cells involved. What makes this research important is that it offers hope for truly improving the lives of people affected by these neurodevelopmental disorders. If successful, this therapy could change the way these conditions are treated in the future, making care more effective and impactful.

As I learn more and more about the therapy, I find myself intrigued to find out who it benefits and why. I chose to find a video about how DMT and Anxiety coinside.

In this video, the host talks about how Movement Therapy is a good coping activity for people with anxiety, or who have symptoms of panic attacks. The moral of the video is to express to others that you can be in control of your body, even when it feels like you aren't. With DMT, you are able to listen to yourself. The goal is to change any negative energy (ie. anxiety) into excitement. With this you are able to give the anxiety a destination, and that destination is used as energy. Energy to move your body and be in control.
