      <description>Kariel Thompson is a Southern California resident who maintains a Los Angeles private practice focused on assisting children living with developmental disabilities and communication disorders. Emphasizing a family-centered approach, Kariel Thompson works to address issues such as traumatic brain injuries and other cognitive challenges. 

After completing her BA in psychology at the University of California, Irvine, Ms. Thompson served as a research assistant at the Cognitive Neuroscience Lab. She also undertook a master’s degree at California State University, Los Angeles, that focused on communication disorders.

Ms. Thompson served as the clinical director of Julia Hobbs Speech Pathology for several years, where she employed knowledge in areas such as newborn hearing and audiology. Supervising therapists and coordinating care with parents, she also facilitated the input of service providers. 

Kariel Thompson’s areas of continued medical research interest include breast cancer, multiple sclerosis, and Alzheimer’s disease. Her favorite free time activities include skiing and archery, as well as spending time on the beach with friends.
