A periodic table is the list of all elements in the world. It is playing the main role in the Chemistry field. There are 118 elements in the periodic table. A periodic table was introduced by Dmitri Mendeleev.
Mendeleev noted that similar chemical and physical properties occur periodically when the elements are arranged in order of increasing atomic mass. It contains atomic mass, chemical symbols, and atomic numbers of elements. Mostly the chemical symbols of elements contain two letters, the first one is in capital letters and the second one is in a simple letter. There are 18 groups and 7 periods in the periodic table. In the table vertical columns that mean groups are arranged in the same number of valance electrons. In horizontal rows( periods) the elements have the same number of orbitals. By these things, viewers can understand the periodic table. For example, in group 17, all elements are non-metals and in group 18 all elements are known as noble gases. A student can understand some trends by the periodic table. Such as electronegativity, ionization energy, electron affinity, metallic character, and chemical reactivity. To understand the easier elements scientists divided them into four blocks. The blocks are divided based on the filling order of the orbitals that means valances orbitals.
Assignment No:01 (Draft 01 )
Topic: Periodic table
Number: PS/2019/279
Name : Arshana .S
Word Count : 213

The statistic is important because today, people live in the information world and this information is determined mathematically by statistical help. The statistic is the branch of science that studies and develops techniques for gathering, analyzing, interpreting, and presenting empirical data. Statistic research has applications in almost all scientific areas, and research issues in many fields inspire the development of new statistical methods and theories. Due to the usefulness of statistics, it teaches students in the Ordinary Level as well as Advanced Level Mathematics in Sri Lanka. University students are also given the opportunity to study statistics as a subject. Statistics enable people to manage daily activities with great time management. On the other hand, the statistic is very helpful in the process of achieving an accurate prediction. For example, it helps to better describe weather forecasting and doctors predict disease based on statistical concepts. The statistic is helped by the students to design tests systematically and efficiently on any topic. As a result, students will be better prepared to face tests. There are many job vacancies by learning statistics such as statisticians, data scientists, lecturers, consultants, statistic trainers, and biostatisticians. Obtaining and analyzing past statistical data will help to formulate current plans and achieve targets. Finally, it would also be beneficial to be able to concentrate on these facts while making future plans.

Assignment No : 01 (draft 01)
Topic : Importance Of Learning Statistic
Word Count : 224
Name : Y.N.Rajapaksha
Student Number : PS/2019/028

Science is very essential in human’s daily life. Science has made human’s everyday lives very comfortable. Nothing in human history has been as good as the advent of science in human history. Everyone uses science in cooking, eating, clothing, etc. Can anyone imagine a life without electricity? Electricity is also given by science. Nowadays, electricity is more important than ever because everyone has to work from home due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In the area of transport, People no longer have to depend upon the power of their legs, now people can use cars, bikes or bicycles to go from a place to another place, these all things are inventions of science. People use soap, detergent these are also given by science. Also, the houses in which people live are a product of science. Because of science, communications have vastly improved. Now everyone can know all the information about the world by pressing one button. Agriculture, transportation, communication, energy needs, and medicine are no longer dependent upon ancient methods. In the field of agriculture, machines are available even for sowing the seeds on fields. All fertilizers are also given by science. The medical field is based entirely on the usage of science. Machines such as ECG machines, MRI machines, injections even pills are given by science. Thus, science has a vast use in all fields of human life. Science has made human life beautiful but if science knowledge is used in the wrong manner, it will be the worst thing in the world

Assignment No: 01 (draft 01)

Topic: Science in everyday life

Word Count: 253

Name : R.M.P.M.Ramanayake

Student Number: PS/2019/087

Applied mathematics is the applicable part of mathematics. These applications are used to solve problems that arise in various fields. Such as Science and engineering fields. The section of applied mathematics consists of two main sections, mathematical science, and specialized knowledge. Professional scientists who are specialized in this field, are studied mathematical modules and formulating that are needed to solve practical problems. A considerable number of applied mathematical fields are developed directly on Newtonian Physics. Such as variational methods and numerical analysis. The role of the professional career in the field of applied mathematics is a complex process that deals with practical applications more than handling numerical expressions. So the importance of learning applied mathematics has been able to use to solve real-life problems and make an impact in the world because it shows the way to identify the patterns and relationships that exist in the real world, and it provides the way to find answers to problems which are predicting in the future.

Assignment No : 1
Topic : Applied Mathematics
Student No : PS/2019/194
Name : A.

What is Statistics? Statistics is a science dealing with the collection, classification, analysis, interpretation of numerical data. Their for drawing conclusions on the basis of their probability. This is the great way to stay informed about what's going on around us. Why is this so important? Today we live in an information based lifestyle so statistics are highly regarded. However, this concept has been developed to provide accurate information to the society. But now people can see that it is being used a lot to socialize misinformation. However, using this correctly can bring many benefits to our lives. As a very common example, almost everyone likes to be aware of weather forecasts. This is because the main objective is to minimize the possible disruption of daily life activities to rain. But have you ever wondered on what factors these predictions are made? This is done using statistical concepts. That is it separates the weather into past, present and future. The data is then compared separately and the terms are entered. Almost everyone makes many predictions in everyday life. For example, after facing an exam, children build predictions about future outcomes. Much of what happens in life like this is statistically based. Statistics play a big role in the medical field. Before any drugs prescribed, scientist must show a statistically valid rate of effectiveness. So statistics are behind all the study of medical. The concept is also being used to diagnose cancer, one of the most serious noncommunicable diseases in society. Drugs, cigarettes, etc. Can dictate many things, such as how cancer can affect the body. Finally, statistics play a major role in the world today. They are understood to be used in practically any situation. It also helps maintain a healthy lifestyle. This concept is very helps maintain a healthy lifestyle. This concept is very helpful to think comparatively about how we live today and how we should live tomorrow. Therefore, by applying the statistics correctly to our lives, we will take action to win life and live productively for the country and the nation.

Assignment No : 01
Topic : Importance of statistics in our daily lives.
Word count : 300
Student No : PS/2019/141
Name : M.P.D.S.

Science, the systematic study of the inorganic world. Physical science is ordinarily thought of as consisting of four broad areas. Such as astronomy, Physics, chemistry and Earth science. Each of these are in divided into fields. Physics in this modern sense, was founded in the mid 19 century as a synthesis of several older sciences. Those of mechanics, optics, acoustics, electricity, magnetism, heat and physical properties of matter. In the 20th century, physics is concerned with the structure and behavior of individual atoms. In the physics subject, we want to think reason and solve problems using scientific method. The main objective of physics subject is to study and try to understand everything in it.

Marie curie is considered to this day to be the mother of modern physics. Studying physics we can develop our critical thinking and problem solving skills. If you learn physical subject, you must have great jobs. Such as research scientist, professor, physics teacher and etc. In the physics subject we have definition, model, theory and laws. Using this definition, model, theory and laws we can solve problem in physics. But we want to have thinking ability. My point of view that, if you fallow physical subject you can improve your thinking knowledge well. Finally we can explain our several activities by making use of knowledge of physics.

The element that fills the electrons to a s energy level is the element in the s block and sometimes Hydrogen is classified into this block. there may be 15 elements in this category and 13 of them have been found so far. Elements other than Hydrogen solidify at room temperature, and all but Beryllium are soft metals. Of all the metals in the periodic table, only metals in this category react rapidly with water and air. The first group of metals is called an "Alkali metals" and the second group of metals is called an "Alkaline soil" metal. This classification is due to to the alkaline properties of the compounds. In the case of group d, the melting point, boiling point, density and hardness of group s metals are very low. the following features can be seen at the bottom along a section of the block.
01. only in the first group does the melting point decrease this variation in the second category is not uniform.
02. The atomic radius, the ionic radius, increases.
03. Metallic properties increase
04. Electrical deficiency increases
05. Only in the first group does the density increase.
Beryllium(Be) shows a deviation from this element. It is amphibian and has the highest melting point, density, boiling point, and hardness. The reactivity of the metals in this block is very high compared to other blocks. These are also slightly higher in the electrochemical range. So most of the metals in the block are good antioxidants. Due to the high reactivity, the metals in this block are never found in the Earth's crust as pure metals. Most of the metals in this block are stored in organic solvents such as Ether. This category of metals are used in many industrial products around the world.

Assignment No : 01 (Draft 01)
Topic : Chemistry of s block elements
Student No: PS/2019/079
Student Name : K.G.K VINURIKA

Complete or incomplete combustion of hydrocarbons, which are mostly used as fuels, add carbon dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, sulfur dioxide, halo hydrocarbons, and carbon particles to the air and pollute the air. Therefore, it causes problems such as global warming, acid rain, Ozone layer depletion, photochemical smog, and climate change. When considered global warming, it will melt the Glacier and pole related ice sheets causing sea levels to rise, as well as desertification due to the drying up of freshwater reservoirs and soil water, and Ozone layer depletion has also affected life on Earth by sending destructive UV rays from the sun directly to earth. And also, acid rain causes soil acidification, increased salinity of water, destruction of aquatic plants and aquatic organisms, deforestation, and skin diseases when exposed to acid rain. Similarly, when considered photochemical smog, it can cause air permeability, which can lead to respiratory illnesses such as cancer and headaches, and could play a role in the global food crisis due to the toxicity of plants. Therefore, whenever possible fossil fuels should be replaced by alternative fuels such as solar energy, wind power, and nuclear energy and also the use of refrigerators and air conditioners should be minimized and the use of alternative refrigerators with less damage should be considered. Increasing fuel efficiency using a hybrid engine can also be used as an alternative.

Assignment No: 01
Word count: 225
Name: Malshika K.J
Student No: PS/2019/213

Mathematics is the basics of any construction work. Geometry, Trigonometry are examples used in constructions. And we set our routine consistent with our workout schedule and count numbers of repetitions while exercising by applying math. Calculus and statistics are used interior designing. And fashion designers cannot work without mathematics. Basic mathematics operations, rations and precentages and geometry are used by them. Architecture is based on arts and mathematical cosepts. And planing of cities, parks are very nice application of math. There are so many problems must be faced in our lives,so we can apply math in there and solve some problems like time managing in busy life etc. Weather forecasting is another valueble application.Mathematics is basic for other subjects. And mathematics applications are used in Bio-medicalengineering,marketing,cooking, computer science, photography, planings, marketing fields and manufacturing industry.

The matrix features a long history of application in solving linear equations. They were known as arrays until the 18001800‘s. The term “matrix”(Latin for “womb”, derived from mater-mother) was coined by James Joseph Sylvester in 18501850, who understood a matrix as an object giving rise to variety of determinants today called minors, that's to mention , determinants of smaller matrices that are derived from the first one by removing columns and rows. An English mathematician named Cullis was the first to use modern bracket notation for matrices in 19131913 and he simultaneously demonstrated the first significant use of the notation A=ai,jA=ai,j to represent a matrix where ai,jai,j refers to the element found in the ith row and the jth column. Matrices are often wont to compactly write and work with multiple linear equations, mentioned as a system of linear equations, simultaneously. Matrices and matrix operation reveal their essential features when associated with linear transformations, also referred to as linear maps.

Assignment No: 1 (Draft 1)
Topic: History of Matrix
Word counted: 162
Name: W.M.D. Nuwan
Student No: PS/2019/150

Chemistry is the study of how matter is made, the combination that can be used, as well as the interior of a chemical reaction. Here the physical study of nuclei, atoms, crystals as well as the whole matter is done individually or in combination.

Chemistry can be basically divided into several parts. They are analytical chemistry, biochemistry, inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, physical chemistry, materials chemistry, and theoretical chemistry. Analytical chemistry basically deals with the separation, identification, and calculation of constituents of natural and synthetic materials, organic chemistry is a well-known part of chemistry. Most of the things in our bodies are made up of organic compounds. Proteins, lipids, compounds in hemoglobin in blood like that. And all the bases in the DNA molecule, are organic compounds. Also, carbon nanotubes are one of the most important discoveries in organic chemistry.

Another important component of chemistry is inorganic chemistry. Most inorganic compounds belong to salts. Table salt use at home is the most used inorganic compound. Inorganic chemistry is also widely used in industry. The manufacturing process of polythene is completely controlled by inorganic chemicals.

Thus, chemistry is a very broad subject, and its importance cannot be overstated. This is a subject that can be learned with great interest, and it can bring a great deal of knowledge into our lives.

Assignment No : 01
Topic : Importance of chemistry
Word count : 219
Student No : PS/2019/167
Name : W.D.S.V.

System software is a collection of programs designed to enable, control, and expand the processing capabilities of a computer. System software is usually developed by computer manufacturers. These software products consist of programs written in low-level languages that interact with the hardware at a very basic level. The system software acts as an interface between the hardware and the end-user.
Software, instructions that tell a computer what to do. The software covers all programs, procedures, and behaviors related to the operation of a computer system. The term was used to modify these instructions from hardware - the physical components of a computer system. A set of instructions that guide a computer's hardware to perform a task is called a program or software program.

The two main types of software are system software and application software. System software controls the internal functioning of a computer, primarily an operating system, and controls devices such as monitors, printers, and storage devices. The application software, on the other hand, directs the computer to execute commands given by the user and says that it includes any program that processes the data for the user. Application software includes word processing, spreadsheets, database management, inventory and payment programs, and many other "applications". The third category of software is network software that coordinates communication between computers connected to a network.

Assignment No: 01
Topic : Computer Softwares
Word count : 222
Student No: Ps/2019/115
Name : K.M.K.R. The study of the properties, composition, structure, reactions, and preparation of carbon-containing compounds is called organic chemistry. Carbon has some properties to create like these compounds. The first one is the ability to makes covalent bonds with other elements because carbon has a neutral electronegative value. Another one is carbon can make individual bonds, double bonds, and triple bonds. Carbon can make a cyclic chain and linear chain when it makes compounds. And carbon can form covalent bonds with four other atoms.

The vast of compounds found in organic chemistry allocates to the sixteen groups to ease of study. Henri Becquerel discovered that uranium emitted radiation in 1896 and after his discovery, Marie Sklodowska Curie and Pierre Curie began studying radioactivity and completed much of the pioneering work on nuclear changes.

Nuclear reactions differ from chemical reactions. Because in a chemical reaction substance results from another substance but in nuclear reaction element results from another element. Due to this process radiations are emitted as energy.

Applications of nuclear chemistry are used in some fields such as agriculture, medicine, industry, and research. Nuclear chemistry affects the development of those aspects.

Radiation Therapy is used for cancer patients for treatment to control malignant cells within. Computer is an electronic device processing and storing data in binary form. Evolution of computer is remarkable step of history. Now we all are in digital age. Computer is essential device for all of us specially in this pandemic situation. Evolution of computer begins with birth of abacus which invented 4000 years ago. After that we have evidence of computer evaluation at 1550-1617. John Napier invented Napier’s bones which was calculation tool. After that Pascaline also called adding machine invented in 1644 by Biaise Pascle. After that the grate movement of computing becomes true. Charles Babbage invented Difference Engine in 1820. It was steam driven calculation machine. It was first step for modern computing. There for we called Charles Babbage as a father of computer. After that first-generation computer age had begun. ENIAC EDVAC UNIACI computers were made in this generation. These computers were lager and vacuum tube base technology use. This generation computers replaced by 2nd generation computers such that IBM 1620 IBM 7094 in 1959-1965. This generation used much advance technology compare previous generation. After that 3rd generation computers invented with small evaluation technology compare 2nd generation. After that golden age of computing begun with 4th generation in 1971-1980. Computer popular among peoples with generation. After this generation computer becomes all ones needs to complete day today task. in now we use 5th generation computers. Now computer becomes our essential device. It is a part of milky way galaxy. The sun is the biggest star in solar system, it is one core fifty Lakh kilometers away from earth. Our solar system is about 4.6 billions years old. Around the sun 8 main planets revolves in their particular axis.
Some of the planets have their moon that keep revolving around. There are hundreds of small planets( like pluto) which also revolve aroun the sun. These 8 planets are Mercury, Mars, Venus, Jupiter, Sarurn, Uranus and Neptune. Mercury is the nearest planet to the Sun. Naptune is the farthest planet to the sun.
Most of the planets revolve around the Sun in an anti clockwise direction. Like planets, our solar system is also in constant moment. Most of the planets are madeup rock and soil. All the planets revolve around the sun. Earth is the only planet in solar system on which the existence of life possible. Saturn is called bride of the solar system because of its beauty. So this is the beauty of our solar system.

Assignment No: 01
Topic: Solar system
Student No: PS/2019/287
Name: I.D.I.M. Vihanga Prabhashana

Physics is the main part of the science. Because everything around us can be connected to physics. For example, we can physically describe sitting or standing and another example is a shaking in the wind.so what we really do with this physics is described what we don’t understand and better understand what we can understand.

When we look at the past of physics. it is act56ually human curiosity that has caused this to happen. The simplest example is sir Isaac newton’s theory of gravity. There are three main parts of physics. Classical physics, Modern physics and Nuclear physics are them.

The physics that came with newton’s laws can be called classical physic. In this section we learn the basic concepts and applications of physics. Modern physics is combination of quantum mechanics, special theory of relativity and general relativity. And this part of physics is growing every day. The physics learn about the protons, neutrons and nuclear energy is called nuclear physics/in addition to these three main parts there are large number of parts that’s fall under these three parts. Like Astrophysics, atomic physics ,biophysics, geophysics, mathematical physics etc.

Physics is something that is always changing. You can’t finish learning this and you can’t stop learning because knowingly or unknowingly physics is a very important thing in human life.

Assignment - 01
Name - W.D.R.N.M.H.U.Devendra
Topic - Physics
Word Count - 217
Stu No- PS/2019/295

But the problem is now people are facing many issues with physical money. Some examples for that is people lose their wallets, face some robberies with money etc.
The best solution for all of these issues is cryptocurrencies because anyone cant steal your money because all of the crypto coins running on block chains and end to end encrypted system. There is no 3rd party owner of these .
Sathoshi Nakamoto is the father of crypto money and as he created Bitcoin is the main coin among all of these crypto money.
There are so many kinds of crypto coins in the world.

Mechanics is the area of mathematics and physics concerned with the motion of physical objects. In mechanics specifically we focus about the relationships among force, matter and motions. Newton’s laws is the most important part when it comes to the mechanics. There are three newtons law. First states that a body at rest will remain at rest, and a body in motion will remain in motion unless it is acted upon by an external force. Second states that the force acting on an object is equal to the mass of that object times its acceleration ( F = ma ). Third law implies for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. This is also called the law of action and reactions. Vectors is the another main part of mechanics. A quantity that has both magnitude and direction its called vector. Force, accelerations, displacement, velocity..etc are examples for vectors.

Assignment No - 01
Topic - Mechanics
Word count - 150
Name - H.A.W.M.B.Ekanayaka
Student number - PS/2019/272

A programming language is a formal language consisting of a set of threads that produce different types of machine code output. Most programming languages consist of instructions for computers. Programs have been used to manipulate the behavior of machines since the early 1800s. Currently, a large number of programming languages have been created. These computer languages are used to instruct the computer to solve computer problems.

Computer languages can be divided into three parts. These are machine language, assembly language, and high-level language. machine language is made up of binary-coded. This language is the only language that the computer understands. This language was difficult for humans to understand, so later it was decided to use a language in between to make it easier for humans.

That language is called assembly language. This language was easily computer-programmed by humans. Here the assembler was used to translate this language into computer language.

This assembly language was later adopted as a more convenient programming language, high-level languages. These high-level languages were the closest language to the human language. So computer programming was an easier task. Many people became interested in creating programs using computer programming. A compiler is used to translate these high-level languages into the computer language. With the advent of computer languages, many useful programs are being created today.

Assignment No - 1
Name - Y.M.S.N.R.Yapa
Topic - Programming Language
Student No - PS/2019/127
Word Count - 219

“Statistics is the science of learning from data, and of measuring, controlling and communicating uncertainty.” by American Statistical Association (ASA).

Methods for obtaining and analyzing information to make decisions can be learned from the subject of Statistics. Not only in the subject of statistics but also it is used in our day to day life such as weather forecasting, quality testing, emergency preparedness, predicting disease and in political campaigns. So it is not new to our lives. Also statistics are necessary for scientific research to analyze the collected data and interpret the ideas and draw summary based on the results of the research.
Probability is another important term of statistics. Simply probability is a measurement of how likely events are to happen. The techniques for organizing, summarizing and extracting information from numerical data are consisted in descriptive statistics which describes the various features and characteristics of data clearly. It contains graphs and frequency tables. Median, mode and mean are some measures of central tendency which can be calculated accurately from that frequency tables and graphs.
So it is interesting that learning statistics as it is an exciting field with the thrill of discovery, curiosity, learning and challenging our assumptions.

Assignment No -01
Topic - What is Statistics
Word count - 199
Name - K.G.E.H.GAYATHRIKA
Student No - PS/2019/080

The only and most successful treatment in the world for preventing hair growth and shedding

In the 1950s, the American UpJohn Company (which later became part of the world-famous Pfizer Company for the development of corona drugs) experimented with the treatment of ulcers with a chemical compound called Minoxidil (C9H15N5O). Here, the researchers used dogs, but the results were not as expected. But they found that the compound opened blood vessels and stimulated blood flow. After nearly twenty years of research, it was approved by the American Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as a treatment for patients with high blood pressure. Side effects of any Western medicine are common. Many successful treatments have been discovered with such unintended consequences. This is common to any science. Patients with high blood pressure who received this treatment were informed that they had observed abnormal hair growth. It was developed by Professor Chisday of the University of Colorado and Professor Khan of the University of Miami and patented with Upzone in 1986 as an anti-hair loss treatment. It was later marketed as Rogaine. The drug was marketed in 1991 as a woman-friendly drug, with a success rate of close to 40%. To date, the only FDA-approved treatments are Rogaine (minoxidil) and Propecia (finasteride). Propecia is used as a tablet and minoxidil is used as a solvent. Propecia is not recommended by doctors because it causes side effects such as loss of sexual desire

                                                    Assignment- 01
Name : R.Y.
