Why I don't like this Song

My first exposer to this song was on the school bus in 7th grade, looking at the lyrics now...this defiantly wasn't a good song for a bunch of impressionable children on a bus ride to school. But, aside from that, the rest doesn't really stand out either. His vocals never really shift and stay in a "sing-talking" type of tone lacking in any real emotion except the typical country song twang. The rhyming scheme isn't all that impressive either which is most notable in the chorus. Liike most post-modern country songs, this one doesn't utilize too many instruments focusing more on the vocals and strings (Guitar usually) making it kinda bland when pared with the boring way in which Keith sings all of his song.

My opinion on post-modern country won't ever change, but I do think it's unfair that we group so many types of songs into one genre. There's a lot of good folk and western music that is totally different than this garbage. Sick Burn x2001
