If you were not of the regular color in the country you were migrating to people would stare at you or even judge you. Immigrants moved to find a better quality of life, but having everyone look at you disgusted, and judge you for your origins made nothing better. You would be mocked by your accent, or color. Most would be denied to fair jobs and would be forced to work in farms due to people thinking that people of your origin were better for farm work.
