So did Morgan sink the ship on purpose because of these rivals? Or did he switch the ships to make it look like a accident? Also kind of a coincidence how he didnt show up on the day of the voyage.

Ap news says maritime historians told The Associated Press that switching the RMS Titanic and the RMS Olympic would not have been possible. “There’s a mountain of evidence against this switch conspiracy,” said J. Kent Layton, who has published multiple books about the Titanic.
 
Both theory’s revolve around money, obviously. But was Morgan doing it for the business or for himself? But here we are today 110+ years later still assuming why the ship went down. We know its the Titanic but he question as to why remains deeper then the Titanic itself.

Some Think the titanic was a complete scam. This article states “To recoup the losses from the accident and claim the insurance, the company allegedly switched the names of the two ships”. But that still wouldn’t make sense because they would still be in debt. This article also stated “Titanic was insured for $5 million, while its actual construction cost was $7.5 million. Therefore, even if the White Star Line had intentionally sunk the ship, they would still have suffered a financial loss.”

Some seem more realistic then others. For example some think it was a insurance scam, others think the captain was trying to beet a top speed record, or a cursed mummy in the cargo hold. I believe that it was none of the above.
