         <description><![CDATA[<div>A day where all cohorts can mix together to socialize amongst their friends, (more peer interaction) following COVID guidelines<br>Maybe we can host fun activities after schools, talking about ways we can deal with mental health, games etc. Also we can split it by grades where there’s days grade 12s cohorts can come to together and another day grade 11s can come together and so on. I would also like to add that during the time there at school we can separate them by groups and the groups could be in the library, gym, cafeteria, than each group can rotate. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Ice Breakers:<br>Two truths and a lie (over used)<br>Themes: Christmas?? <br>Questions in the topics can be related to holidays like Christmas?<br><br>Socialize within groups:<br>Socialization days: Break out rooms?<br>Senior students can be added to the breakout room and start the conversations to make it more comfortable.<br><br>Debate discussions?<br>It will bring students out of their shells?<br><br>Afternoon classes (when everyone is online): If class ends early instead of letting students leave early they should use this time to...<br>Asking questions that students will relate to and feel comfortable sharing<br>Have a specific time during class to dedicate to getting to know each other.<br>Involve students and get them to open up.<br>It will make them feel more comfortable in the classroom<br>- Maybe let the students carry the conversation if they feel comfortable?<br><br>Keep in mind most kids won't be comfortable un-muting their mics.<br><br>Perhaps create a google form to ask the grade 9's what they would be interested in? <br>- We will understand exactly what the grade 9 students want to share<br>- Guiding questions like:<br>Do you like to watch Netflix?<br>If so what shows do you watch?<br><br>  *Maybe host a meeting with                 Ms. Galvao about this Topic*<br>Have a small orientation for the grade 9's: Similar to the get ready program<br>- Seeing them face to face might make them more comfortable to speak <br>- Have this done after the break so we have more time <br>- Create groups with students who like similar stuff (encourages more topic conversations)<br>- Teachers are worried about the time they have with their students<br>- Communication is important for students especially during this time.<br>-  Maybe start the class a little bit early like 12:50pm so teachers can devote time to the students.<br><br>            Steps to get this started:<br>Send a google form FIRST to the grade 9 Teachers. google form made by: Debbie<br>      - Post the google form<br>Once we get the answers we can personalize the email <br>Mr. Ramos will send the email on Sunday<br>(Must need at least 3 student to confirm)<br>Email will include:<br>"Is there any way if you (the teachers) could have a small chat with there students before Christmas. Let the students speak for a small amount of time about there plans or anything." <br> <br>- 3 Questions max.<br>Have you started to encourage your students?<br>Do you need resources to help you communicate with your students?<br>Would you like us to provide you with open ended questions?<br>- Start off with an icebreaker to get the conversation started.<br><br>If teachers do not want to waste time:<br>- They can let students share their social media, maybe create a post on the google classroom or D2L? It would be Optional for students.<br>- Teachers will feel uncomfortable doing this, Should be brought up for staff meeting to get other teachers input. <br>- Huge problem when it comes to legal reasons for teachers<br>- Perhaps  bring it up as a one-to-one conversation, teachers will be more comfortable talking about it.<br><br>Monday discussion topic:<br>Speak about  how to get the teachers more involved.<br><br>Themes: <br>Silly hat day<br>Ugly sweater day </div>]]></description>
