In these sketches, I have all the key ingredients of Kimbap set in their natural habitats. These sketches would be the basis of the only idea I got from the group ideation - a scavenger hunt game where each item represents something from Korean history. Obviously it isn't very scavenger-hunt-y right now, but I would add other aspects to these backdrops to actually make people look for the right ingredients. Players can interact with each backdrop by hovering over or clicking on ingredients to show information or add them to a kitchen backdrop of some sort.

Low Fidelity Prototype

The game will start out with an underwater background (upper left panel) with crabs, fish, and seaweed hidden. When the player hovers over them with a mouse a fact about Korea (KF) comes up. If the fish is clicked, some message will come up saying "Close, but we're not making sushi". If the player clicks them, they will disappear and join your "loadout". Once everything of value is found, the background will switch to a farm (upper right panel). Same rules as first panel, except the player must find the cow and pig. Once they are found, it goes to a garden background (lower left panel). Again, same rules except you have to find all the carrots, daikon roots, burdock roots, and rice plants. If you hover over the rabbit, then a message will come up saying, "You sick f*ck" (because it's mean to eat a rabbit most of the time). Once everything is found, the game will take you to the last background, a kitchen (lower right panel). While there, you will have access to everything you found in previous panels to make your own roll of kimbap. The game will end when you finish.

1. How do you feel about this piece of work? What parts of it do you particularly like? Dislike? Why? What did/do you enjoy about this piece or work?
I feel good about this piece of work. I like the fact that I created it without any big problems. Most of the time, I have to ask for help when using Scratch. I don't really dislike anything.

2. What would you change if you had a chance to do this piece over again?
If I had the chance to do this project over again, I would put more effort into the sprites and backdrops. They could be a little more cohesive and cleaner looking.

3. What did you learn about yourself as you worked on this piece?
I learned about how much I actually love Korean food. Even though this was a school project, I had fun coding an ingredient scavenger hunt game and teaching others about Kimbap.
