Grade II listed building. Initially was the home to the Jackson family for over 150 years in which the family constantly changed the internal layout of the building. The family also developed the land surrounding the building by created a local greenhouse storing a wide range of exotic plants from their travels and a local aviary. During the late 19th century the local council purchased the land and opened the park to the public.

Unfortunately, in 1984 an electrical fire erupted from the house and damaged the roof. Whilst under repair, another fire broke out in 1994 which has caused the unfortunate closure of the building for the foreseeable future

Also a London Landmark, the BT Tower is one of the six 20th century buildings to be given listed status (Grade II listed)

The recent listing apparently represents the strides made by Britain's telecommunications industry in the 1950s and '60s. It was the first to transmit high frequency radio waves when it was completed in 1965 using dishes inside cables. At 620ft it was the tallest building in London until the NatWest Tower was built in 1981 - because other tall structures would have blocked transmissions.
