It can be large scale in groups by protesting, having rallies, or other gatherings. And it can even be small scale and on your own, just by re-posting something in social media and sharing your support or your own information. I believe it encompasses a broad number of activities and ideas. Actively participating in something is activism to me. Going to a rally, showing support by showing up, or simply being present, or even going to the area (such as with refugee efforts) of those affected. This form of activism should be nonviolent, as it supports humanitarian efforts and ideals. I do not consider myself an activist. But I don't necessarily think that activism is JUST that as many people don't have the time or the power to go out and protest even if they wanted to. Of course, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and can express their interests in casual conversation, but activism requires active and willing effort. Activism expands beyond reposting/resharing threads and posts from social media and should be more about spreading awareness through very personal effort. I'm not much of an activist, but I'd like to try and be one.
