The one and only disability access area on the bus was taken by a wheelchair user. When another wheelchair user got on the bus at the next stop, he realized that the space was already taken. The person had no other choice but to get off the bus and stand in the cold to wait for another one. We feel that buses, and public transport in general need to be made more accessible for people with disabilities. The addition of one or two more disability spaces on public buses would definitely be a step in the right direction.

This image of diverse barbie dolls represents a step towards inclusiveness. Since it's foundations, barbie has been known to represent an unrealistic and unachievable image. The company have produced a range of dolls that portray various disabilities, it isn't where we should be, but it's enough to open a dialogue with our families and the wider community about the importance of including everyone, especially people who would otherwise be marginalised.
