Here is a little something about me :)

I go to Seminole Middle School,I like to hang out with my friends and talk about funny, weird things, that only my friends would understand, my friends and I are weird, but that is my personality so that's cool :).I'm half white, half Filipino, it comes from my dad's side, he is also half Italian, so that makes me Italian! Anyways,I also like to eat, that's sort of my thing too, (but ya know that's kinda a lot of people's thing) I like to eat sweets, meats, and ect. I like steak, cupcakes, chips, and more.I also like to binge watch shows, a couple of my favorite shows are, "FRIENDS" and "The 100" these shows are REALLY GOOD, you should totally watch them, by the way.I also like, VANS, not the car, vans, the shoes. In school, I learn better when I am working aloud with people and the teacher, I don't like working by myself because I will sort of have a panic attack if I don't know something, if that something is a grade, so that's really great, cool and stuff, so ya. PEACE. DEUCES! :)

My Essay Prompt
WRITING PROMPT: Write an argumentative essay, explaining your opinion if you think students should have to take the state tests for school. Be sure to include information about how students feel and how you,as a student feel about taking state tests. Also be sure to include a introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. :)
____________________________________________________________
ESSAY:
INTRODUCTION:
"Standardized tests are unreasonable", "Scores don't measure intelligence", if you are saying the same thing, your in the right spot.Standardized tests are poor. Students should not take standardized tests.Although, we have to take these tests and they are state wide, we should not take them due to student stress, advantages, lack of true ability,ect...
BODY PARAGRAPHS:
Standardized tests are not reliable .According to "Whitbyschool.org", students who are getting high test scores "...could simply mean a student excels at rote memorization and multiple choice test taking." If, someone is just remembering something for the test then, its not their knowledge. Also, the website "standardized tests.procon.org", older kids dont take standardized tests seriously "...because they don't affect their grades."
Standardized tests are stressful.according to "standardizedtests.procon.org", younger kids get so stress, that "...children vomit or cry,or both." This means that kids get so stressed they can't take it they get the jitters. "projects.iq.harvard.edu", said that, teens reported,"...stress levels were higher than adults...", this pictures, that the adults have more to worry about like bills, kids, family, and kids have a higher stess level just because of one test.
In conclusion, standardized tests poor. These tests are not reasonable and don't measure intelligence.Standardized tests are stressful and are not reliable.

In Civics, I'm assigned to "blog" about 2 learning targets that I have learned about. So,towards the beginning of the year we learned about citizens and how to become one if you aren't one.
___________________________________________________________
CITIZENSHIP...
If you aren't one then you may want to become one and try something called the Naturalization process. Now before we get into that, I have to let you know how somebody is a natural citizen. Now there is a difference between a naturalized citizen and a natural citizen.Somebody is a natural citizen when they are either, Born on U.S soil,Born with both parents being citizens, or 1 parent being a citizen and lived in the U.S for 10 years. Now that is how somebody is a natural citizen,if you aren't a citizen, there is a way for you to become a citizen. The Naturalization gives people a chance to live and be free. The Naturalization process has requirements for you to meet. The first thing that you need is to be at least 18 years old when you apply. The second thing you need is to be a permanent resident for at least 5 years. The third thing you need is to show that you have live in the distric you applied in for 3 months. You also have to be able to read, speak, and write in English. You also have to have a good understanding of the history of the US for a hard civics test. The steps to doing the naturalization process are to first, is to apply and submit your application. The second step is to,complete an interview. The third step is to,understand and except your rights as a citizen. The fourth step is to take the reading, writing, and speaking test to make sure you can make it through the US.Last, the hard civics test.
___________________________________________________________
DISTRIBUTION OF POWER...
FEDERAL SYSTEM: The federal system is where the power is "layered" among different levels. The United States is an example of a Federal system. There is a central government with an executive branch, legislative branch, and a judicial branch. The leader of the executive branch is called the president. The head of the executive branch in a state government is called the governor. The state legislators pass laws, the executive carries them out, and the state judiciaries interpret them.
UNITARY SYSTEM: With a unitary system, government power is held at the center and the central , or national, government preforms all of the governmental functions.Th powers are determined by the national government. The national government has the power to tax and major law making powers.
PARLIAMENTARY SYSTEMS: The government power lies with the legislative body and the leader of the country is part of the legislature. Citizens elect leaders through political parties indirectly. The prime minister is the head of the (state)government.
CONFEDERATIONS:Independent states sometimes join to create a type of central government. This is the weakest of all government systems. The members of the confederation maintain individual power. The individual states making up the confederations have power to tax their own laws. The central government serves to protect the members of the confederation.

I was assigned to "blog" about 2 benchmarks we have learned about, so far. I chose unit 1 The Rock Cycle, and Unit 2 and 3 Plate Tectonics.
___________________________________________________________
PLATE TECTONICS...
I can identify and describe the layers of the Earth.Starting from the bottom is the inner core, the inner core is composed of mostly iron and nickel. The inner core is about 760 miles thick and is the Earths innermost layer. The next layer of Earth is the outer core, the outer core is about 14.000 miles thick, and it is mostly made up of iron and nickel, too.The next layer of the Earth is the mantle, the mantle is about 1.802 miles thick and is the thickest layer of the Earth. The mantle is mostly made up of rock and Earth's crust. The mantle is 84% of the Earth's volume. The next layer of the Earth is the Asthenosphere, the Asthenosphere is 180 km thick and is mostly made of rock and Earth's crust. The next layer of the Earth is the lithosphere, the lithosphere is also made up of rock and is about 44-62 miles deep into Earth. It is a cool, dense, and a rigid part of the mantle. After the Lithosphere, is the crust of the Earth, the Earth's crust contains 2 types of crust, the continental crust and the oceanic crust. We live on the continental crust while volcanoes and earthquakes happen here, when tsunamis and hurricanes form on the oceanic crust.Seismic waves were used to determine the earth's interior because the waves detect solid and liquid and what it is.Theses waves have told us a lot about the inside the earth,it has told us the measurements like the density, thickness,km,miles, and ect.. it also has revealed what each layer consists of.
Earth is split into broken sections they are called plates and the reason why they are broken is because they were moved by the convection currents. When they were together, they were once called Pangea, and the reason why they know that they were all together is because they found the same fossils on other "plates". Now to this day, you are still able to look at some continents and piece them together, like puzzle pieces. There are 3 types of plate boundries that desribe the movement of a plate. Divergent is when two plates are moving away from each other, divergent boundaries form volcanoes when the plates move apart to form gaps for the lava to spew out.Divergent boundries also cause rift valleys for a certain part of the earth is spread apart at the surface.Divergent cause mid-ocean ridges that are basically rift valleys but underwater.Convergent is when the two plates collide or move toward each other, convergent boundries form mountains and volcanoes . And lastly, the transform boundary, this happens when two plates slide passed each other. The transform boundary forms earthquakes and volcanic islands.
I can describe that heat flows in convection currents withinn the layers of the Earth. The Asthenosphere is part of the mantle and is where convection currents are located, convection currents are a current of liquid "goo" that is made up of magma mixed up with other elements. The upper mantle has a 3.4 measure of density and the lower has a 4.4 measure of density due to the convection currents.
____________________________________________________________
ROCK CYCLE...
SUBSURFACE AND SURFACE:
subsurface events are when the rock cycle is occurring under/in the ground. Surface events are when the rock cycle is occurring above the ground.
Metamorphic rock can change into an igneous rock by metamorphic melting, then it turns into magma for the magma to cool down and it will turn to igneous. An igneous rock can turn back into a metamorphic rock by heat and pressure. An igneous rock can turn into sedimentary rock by weathering and erosion and is turned into sediments, the sediments go through compaction and cementation, and is now sedimentary.Sedimentary can change into metamorphic byheat and pressure and is now metamorphic.
Sand dunes are made from erosion because erosion is when something is carried by water, wind, ect. The sand is picked up by wind. Lakes are formed by glaciers melting so that would be erosion because the water is being carried.Sinkholes are made by weathering because the ground below is being broken down.In auquifers, water comes from the ground which is erosion.
Sea levels change according to the climate. The more water may cause the ground beneath to weather or erode.
Humans impact the earth by polluting the environment. People throw trash everywhere, oil spills, and ect.. The Lithosphere, the hydrosphere, the biosphere, and the atmosphere are all part of the earth that are impacted by humans. The hydrosphere is polluted by oil spills, littering, and red tide. The lithosphere is impacted by littering, urbanization, deforestation, and land use. The biosphere is impacted by organizisms who live in the biosphere, huntiing, and ect.. The atmosphere is impacted by humans by factorys who let pollution into the air and the greenhouse effect. Most of these effects are surface events that happen above the ground.
