The Great Migration was about and started because African Americans wanted to have higher wages, and wanted to unlocked more educational opportunities. The Great Migration happened between the time of 1916 all away from 1970. During this time there turned out to be a huge relocation of blacks, there was estimated about 6 million blacks were relocated to different cities. To add on, these weren't placed in normal cities no, they were placed in urban cities and they also during the relocation made the first ever large urban communities in northern cities. During the relocation many families as well were getting displaced during it.

Although there was many negatives during this Great Migration, there was also positives. For example, the Great Migration was a big factor to leading to the American Civil Rights Movement. The Great Migration also helped stop the racial violence that was happening during this time.

Major positive impacts of the Harlem Renaissance

The Harlem Renaissance was a time where African Americans left a great impact on history where they showed their passion of stuff, struggles, racism, and culture through writings and other types of forms of literature. Now who started all of this? Well the person who is considered the founding Father of the Harlem Renaissance was a man named Alain Locke, he decided that he wanted to show white people the true value of African Americans through the forms of literature.

During this time, many African American literature people started opening up and fighting for the value of African Americans. The effect of this is that it gave more pride to African Americans about their own culture. Furthermore, the Harlem Renaissance also helped African Americans with gaining a new spirit and pride in themselves. Overall though the Harlem Renaissance was a period of time where African Americans became creative with their writings, music, and art.

Now the Harlem Renaissance also left many other great impacts, like showing more positive attention to African Americans of their culture. Furthermore, it also helped the African American culture to gain more control of their own voice, and as well show the true beauty of African American culture to all people and specifically the whites. Besides showing more positivity to African Americans, it was also a key factor in the groundwork of the Civil Rights Movement and the Black Art Movement.
