Just as there are three primary causes, there were three primary events that happened in WWI.

I'll list them as

The assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand

The Battle of Somme

The Treaty of Versailles

1. On June 28, 1914, Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria-Hungary was assassinated in Sarajevo by Gavrilo Princip, a Bosnian Serb nationalist. This was what primarily quick-started the war.

2. Fought from July 1 to November 18, 1916, the Battle of the Somme was one of the bloodiest battles in World War I. It took place near the Somme River in France between the British and French forces against the German Empire.

3. Signed on June 28, 1919, the Treaty of Versailles officially ended World War I. The treaty imposed harsh penalties on Germany, including territorial losses, disarmament, and reparations payments
