Both emotions... were given a final impetus by the General Election and by the fiscal worries of Britain at the end of the war. They survived into the months of (sic) Peace Conference and saddled the Treaty of Versailles with its fatal mixture of economic penalty and moral censure”,

Source:Exerpt from book by R.E Bunselmeyer(historical author)

INFERENCE

The source mentions Britain's worrys of Germany being far more advances and having a better economy and greater military capacity ,therefore it it unfair as it puts the reason for the inclusion of the war guilt clause(Treaty of Versailles) not being relate to WWI in any way rather, based of fear of being overpowered.

EVIDENCE

“The exactions of this treaty are more than the German people can bear… The reconstruction of our economic life is rendered impossible.”

Source:German delegation's formal response to the draft of the treaty of Versailles

INFERENCE

it showed that the terms of the treaty were clearly unfair and would put an Germany in an enormous amount of debt making it difficult for their economy to bounce back especially after being hit by the financial strain of the war. Therefore the treaty is unfair as it did not consider the plight of germany's economy before placing large amounts of war repatriations on them in terms of the sum of money they were made to repay.
