I'm from a land of mystery,

From a home with musical history

Sandy palm breaches to the pearly white sea shore.

I am from “Get out the shower already!” Hearing that was quite a bore.

I am from times when sunblock just won’t stay on your shoulder,

And “Just hurry up, before the water gets much colder!”

I’m from “Go stand in the corner!” if you ever dare to scoff.

I am from caring, courage, kindness, and just barely pulling it off.

Alohas, shakas, and hiking with my Papa.

Watching my brother surf, and making music,

“No you can’t go play, you're way too sick!”

I am from many places, and many moves.

When you leave ten times, it is hard to lose your groove.

Oahu oceans to southern ‘sweet home’ storms, tornado plains and the 

Mountain range outdoors.

I am from traveling a lot and “Go with the flow” Now we're here to stay 

With the winter night snow.

We will be here at least through my highschool years,

I will remember each night I have with my peers.

Sadness, anger, and laughter filled tears.

Speaking of good friends, if I ever need a cuddle, 

our dog Thor will be there for us to keep warm with his mini poodle huddle.

I am from family and friends, new faces or old,

I always feel protected as I get filled with pure love made of gold.

I am from taking up new hobbies, whether I have to or not.

Getting in some trouble? Who would have thought?

I am from ballet slippers and dusty riding boots,

Pricey new sneakers and marching band shoes.

I am from summertime birthdays after everybody else.

I am from being a model and “Admire yourself!” 

Play an instrument? How about seven! 

A few strings like the uke and guitar, some woodwinds too, since before I was eleven!

Singing is a passion, “let the world hear” they say!

Writing lyrics can be hard though, but at least in my mind they stay.

I am from sleepovers and late nights,

Teen gossip and pillow fights.

Fun days and hanging with a friend,

I will always know that the good times never end. 

That is where I am from.
