1) Voltaire used writing as a weapon to expose the abuses of his days. Voltaire said that his trade was to say what he thought an thats what he did his whole life. In today’s world it has impacted society because he has taught us to stand up for what we believe in.
2) Voltaire was imprisoned and was forced into exile. Even as he saw his books outlawed and even get burned, he still continued to defend the principle of freedom of speech. He still kept fighting for what he believed in even when he saw people burning his books but he still kept writing them because it’s what he believed in.

Voltaire is trying to tell us that if you want perfect you have to work hard for it and it comes slowly and little by little. This shows us that Voltaire wanted perfect and he had to work very hard for it and slowly through time you will see you’re results.
