      -There was no public education or regulation of child labor so children were exposed to unsafe working conditions of factories

Ellis Island (also known as Angel Island) was the largest and most active assimilation center in the U.S. for immigrants. They guided over 12 million people into the U.S.

Immigration laws aided American cities from being overcrowded. Overcrowding meant more crime, illness, and less job opportunities. By building in laws such as the Immigration Act of 1924 which limited immigration from certain countries. Jane Addams established the Hull House organization that aimed to help immgrants and those in need. The Hull House program rented out housing for immagrants to use and to teach the residents about American society. The Hull House provided a day nursery, a gymnasium, a community kitchen, and a rough form of a school that taught collage level courses. This gave many immagrants the help they needed to merge into society.

Their goals mainly consisted of trying to cut off boarders and prevent immigration reforms. Another thing some Nativist supported was eugenics.
