Global warming is causing the sea temperature to rise, and that causes corals to turn white, which means they get destroyed and die. If the corals die, sea animals will not have food anymore and die as well. That will imbalance the food chain.

Mr Appleby
Miya, it is true that the barrier reef is being affected by global warming, but it is not only sea levels rising. Let's look together to find out what exactly happens with global warming that can CAUSE damage to coral reef.

Since the Amazon gives us more than 20 percent of the oxygen that we need this would be a big problem. Also, people are cutting down trees for homes and industry in the Amazon and this causes climate change and we need to help stop the people cutting too many trees.

Mr Appleby
Eva, this is great.
