         <description><![CDATA[<div>Miss Baker and I exchanged a short glance consciously devoid<br>of meaning. I was about to speak when she sat up alertly and said “Sh!” in a warning voice. A subdued impassioned murmur was audible in the room beyond, and Miss Baker leaned forward unashamed, trying to hear. The murmur trembled on the verge of coherence, sank down, mounted excitedly, and then ceased altogether. <br>“This Mr. Gatsby you spoke of is my neighbor ——” I said.<br>“Don’t talk. I want to hear what happens.”<br>(Fitzgerald 18).<br><br>Even when it comes to someone trying to talk about something different, she is still more worried about gossip than she is about something that could be potentially important.</div>]]></description>

I don’t give a damn about you now, but it was a new experience for me, and I felt a little dizzy for a while.”<br>We shook hands.<br>“Oh, and do you remember.”— she added ——” a conversation<br>we had once about driving a car?”<br>“Why — not exactly.”<br>“You said a bad driver was only safe until she met another bad<br>driver? Well, I met another bad driver, didn’t I? I mean it was<br>careless of me to make such a wrong guess. I thought you were<br>rather an honest, straightforward person. I thought it was your<br>secret pride."<br>“I’m thirty,” I said. “I’m five years too old to lie to myself and<br>call it honor.”<br>She didn’t answer. Angry, and half in love with her, and<br>tremendously sorry, I turned away.<br>(Fitzgerald 178-179).<br><br>Jordan was easily able to get over Nick just for the sake that he dumped her over the phone. She is now engaged to someone else and seems to be rubbing it in Nicks face that she was able to make it over Nick when she did while he still sort of loved her.</div>]]></description>
