Bruni is not active on many social media sites aside of Twitter (a private Facebook, a dead Instagram full of food pictures, and nothing else to be found). Bruni's Twitter upon initial investigation is ridden with retweets from the NY Times official Twitter page (and usually his own articles). Social media for Bruni is less of a "social" or "personal" sphere for him than it is a tool for self-endorsement and expansion of his audience. Here and there, Bruni responds to articles by other columnists, usually with praise and/or a personal connection to the piece. Bruni's Twitter displays his sense of humor and ability to relax and engage a reader on controversial topics (like Trump and Pumpkin Spice Lattes).
