         <description><![CDATA[<div>One strength of the role of drugs on the synaptic transmission is that it is reductionist (a simple biological explanation of addiction), this makes it more internally valid as it is specific to measuring the cause and effect of addiction because of drugs on synaptic transmission. An example would be, cocaine blocks the the re uptake channel for dopamine causing there to be more dopamine in the synaptic cleft increasing the feeling of euphoria.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Heroin causes production of <strong>dopamine</strong> in the reward pathway and <strong>binds to the receptors</strong>, inhibiting the release of <strong>GABA</strong>. This means <strong>dopamine will flood the synaptic gap,</strong> and to compensate for the high levels of dopamine, your body will <strong>lower the natural levels</strong>, leaving users with a feeling of <strong>dysphoria</strong>. This is useful as it allows us to increase our knowledge and understanding the effect drugs have on synaptic transmission. This means we can create applications such as <strong>counter-drugs</strong> to <strong>reverse</strong> the effects of heroin flooding the receptors to <strong>reduce the addiction over time.</strong></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The variations between people in terms of how their natural levels of dopamine may affect how an individual gets addicted to drugs. So this may not be a valid explaination to his an individual gets addicted to drugs, and therefore cannot accurately explain how everyone becomes addicted to recreational drugs. An example is that individuals may have lower levels of dopamine so they may need to take a larger amount of drugs in order to obtain euphoria, which means that they will have a larger come down and therefore feel like they need to take more to get the same high. This leads to addiction. </div>]]></description>

This makes it high in validity as you are proving what you intend to measure which is the role of drugs on synaptic transmission and drugs that can cause addictive behaviours. For example we could use PET scans to measure the levels of dopamine/GABA neurotransmitters in the synaptic cleft to study the effects of drugs in addicted users compared to those who aren’t <br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Issues with being addicted to drugs due to social control, as it cause and allows people to have the ability to label individuals that take drugs. This is a weakness as it can be seen as discrimination which means people with addictive behaviour will feel disrespected in society. If someone takes a drug like herion it has an effect on neurotransmitters across the synapses causing feeling of euphoria and therefore they addicted due to the feeling of dysphoria, causing addictive behaviours and lead to discrimination within society as it people can easily spot behaviours or euphoria.</div>]]></description>
