Mechanical Energy: Mechanical energy is energy that an object has due to the objects motion or position. Mechanical energy can be used to lift or use other objects. A car uses mechanical energy because the car is working and moving. This is mechanical energy.

Light Energy: Light energy is a type of energy that is carried by light. This light is usually visible to the human eye. Another word that is used to described light energy is radiant energy. An example of light/radiant energy is the sun. The sun gives off light energy to Earth, witch feeds our planet.

Electrical Energy: Electrical energy is energy that is carried by charge particles, known as electrons. Electrical energy is also known as electricity something everyday that we humans use. For example, your plugged in television, without electrical energy you would not have your favorite TV shows and movies.

Energy can be seen in many different forms. For example, the six main forms of energy are mechanical, light, electrical, sound, chemical, and thermal. There are lots of other forms of energies, but these are the main ones. However, the main definition of energy is it is the ability to do work. Without energy you could not play your favorite sports or do any work. This is what energy is.

Kinetic Energy: Kinetic energy is a type of energy; this energy is used when we are doing work.

Potential Energy: Potential energy is another type of energy that is waiting to occur or happen. For example, food in your pantry, that food is waiting to turn into chemical energy when we eat it. This is potential energy.

Energy can transfer from one object to another. As well, energy can also transfer form one location to another. This is called energy transfer. An example, of energy transfer is when you charge your computer or iPad. It is very simple first, a plug is in the wall, then the energy flows through the charger to the battery and then to your computer. This is energy transfer.

The gasoline is chemical energy but, when the gasoline is put into the car it turns into mechanical energy. This is what energy transformation is and what is does.

The Law Conservation of Energy states that energy cannot be created or destroyed. For example, on a cold and dark night we humans rub are hands to keep warm then the energy that we used to rub our hands turns to thermal energy. This shows that the energy was never destroyed, the energy just transformed into something new.

For example, when you switch a light bulb on, electrical energy flows all the way to the light, then the light bulb gives off light energy, and a little thermal energy. This proves and shows that energy can change, when turning on a light bulb there is more than just electrical energy flowing through the room but light and thermal energy is also flowing.

Sound Energy: Sound energy is energy that is carried by sound waves. Sound waves are waves that travel through matter and the air. Sound energy is created when a vibration is created. Without sound energy you would not be able to hear anyone or anything.

Chemical Energy: Chemical energy is energy that is stored within the bonds of atoms. Chemical energy can be found in your food and fuel. For example, batteries are an example of chemical energy. Another example, of chemical energy is natural gas.

Thermal Energy: Thermal energy is always associated with temperature. Thermal energy is also associated with atoms. The faster the atoms vibrate, the hotter the matter gets. The warmth from the sun gives Earth it's heat and light. Without thermal energy we would all be as cold as ice. This is thermal energy.
