I really enjoyed the Number Sense unit. I learnt a bit about the formula used to derive the nth term of an arithmetic sequence, and I also brushed upon my prior knowledge of nth term from last year. I didn’t find the tasks to hard either - they were well explained and the content was easy to follow. However, I think it would be interesting to learn about geometric sequences as well. Asides from that, I also had fun enjoying doing HCF and LCM. However, I believe that we had already learnt this last year, so it was more of building on prior knowledge than learning something new. Nonetheless, it was fun. I think there is a lot of scope for applying my understanding of especially HCF and LCM in my daily life.

During this unit, I learned about and revised many different concepts, such as the nth term rule, HCF, LCM, and different methods to calculate the above. I’ve learned about the different implications of these concepts, as well as how to use them in a real life situation. I think I could have done a little more revision to strengthen the concepts, because in the summative, there were some questions which I found slightly challenging, but overall I think my performance in the unit was good. I also learned more about terms like an arithmetic sequence and a geometric sequence.

I really enjoyed the unit (HCF & LCM and Patterns) as it was a good recap of what we had learned about this concept in the previous years. 1 thing I really liked in HCF and LCM was the methods. We had learned a number of methods and how to solve a question in various ways. We learned different methods such as prime factorization, Division method, Listing method, and factor trees, etc. In patterns, we learned about the nth term rule which was something new to me. Thus, I really enjoyed learning about it.

I was able to understand the “nth” term and factorization well. I think I could work more on my factorization, as I was a bit confused with LCM. I have also learnt the different methods to calculate HCF and LCM. I was also able to find out how I can use patterns in real life, and especially in different subjects in school.

We had learned a lot of things mainly things about HCF and LCM. I enjoyed learning about all of this but something that I enjoyed the most was learning about various different ways to find the HCF and LCM. I learned a lot of other things like nth term rule and more. I also learned how I could use the things that we learned on a daily basis in real life which was quite helpful. I think that I could have learnt more about nth term rule in depth otherwise it was really interesting and I really enjoyed learning all of this in this unit.

In unit one I learnt about square and cube roots, I learnt about patterns and sequences and LCM and HCF. I enjoyed the math song that we did for HCF and LCM. I found the cube roots and square roots confusing and first but then I got a hang of it. I found some of the nth term problems difficult. Overall I liked this unit and I have a good understanding of everything that we learnt.

The first unit was pretty good. I didn't exactly learn anything "new", I just refreshed what I'd learned last year. We'd learned how to calculate the nth term, the HCF, and the LCM. I found easier ways to find LCM and HCF though. I'm not sure how I'd use it in real life but I'm sure I will. It was a very fun unit. I would, however, like more individual tasks. The first summative however, was different. It was easy but I was nervous so I mixed up my numbers and ended up doing pretty badly. Still, I understood the concept, and I know how to do the operations. The second summative went well. It was easy and I understood what we were taught.

I really enjoyed the the unit, Number Sense. It was helpful to recap, refresh and broaden our understanding of numbers (HCF & LCM), patterns (arithmetic sequences) and nth terms.
In my opinion, the group activities / investigations were great, as they provided us with an opportunity to apply our knowledge, connect with real-life scenarios, and collaborate. Learning the different methods was effective, because we could incorporate a wider understanding of the topic and select which one we want to use. Learning various methods also helps us compare and contrast, overall developing a more wholesome sense of numbers.

One area I believe I can work on is being even more familiar with co-primes and twin-primes. I can improve here by revising and practicing further.

I look forward to applying these skills in real life situations too.

I enjoyed learning about patterns, and getting to know more about the Nth term, HCF and LCM, and more. One suggestion that I have would be more asynchronous time, as this unit we had more group work and we had to stay on the call, which I didn’t enjoy. I would want to return to individual work because in groups some people would do all the work while others would do none

We also learnt about factors and also the nth term rule. I am clear with all of these topics and I really enjoyed the unit. I had forgotten how to do the nth term rule so the unit was a bit challenging. I had lots of fun and I can use these topics in my real life, such as finding out how many cakes I need for a party by the nth term rule and how many people will come/how many each person will eat.
