         <description><![CDATA[<div>I believe natural proportion can be successful when you have a large school population. We only have one English only classroom and then one Spanish immersion classroom, therefore, if the special students aren’t in the elementary Spanish program they go to the English only class and that tends to have more special Ed students. When I taught in FL, we had larger grade level groups and classes, so kids could he spread out to meet natural proportion standards. </div>]]></description>

My gen ed class was too big for our table and so the last 1-2 people in line had to sit at the self-contained sped class table. Kids would cut in line to avoid being last as this was a cause of bullying. Natural proportion would have solved this problem as there would be no stigma sitting at “the sped table.”</div>]]></description>

         <title>MTSS is great as long as there are specific parameters and they are being met. For example, 13 is NOT a small group but that was the average number in my small groups. Natural proportion would be nice if it was followed. The strongest teachers are given the most challenging students.</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>MTSS is too ambiguous in its transition of a student to a sped referral.&nbsp; Tier 1 is for everyone but many sped kids get left out due to so much pull-out time and gen eds inability to make it happen.<br><br>Sped kiddos spread out proportionally is the ideal BUT I’d rather have my students placed in classrooms where the gen ed teacher will accept and include them.  This allows us to co-teach and stop pull outs.</div>]]></description>
