The conflict in the story the talkative turtle was that the new lake was too far for the turtle too walk. The solution was that two swans grabbed a stick and one swan held onto the end of the stick with her beak while the second one did the same.I can infer that the theme is sometimes talking to much can make you miss in important opportunities in life. The author developed the fable's theme because turtle was too talkative and he didn't get to enjoy the new lake because of that.

In this fable the conflict is the lion got trapped in a

hunter's snare. This was solved by the mouse help

freeing the lion from the snare. The theme of this

fable is do not judge someone about their abilities.

Evidence for this theme is, "The lion looked at the

mouse and laughed. 'You save my life? What an

absurd idea.'"

Group 1: The Wind and the Sun

In this fable, the conflict was that the Sun and the Wind had a conflict. They wanted to find out which one of them was stronger. This conflict was solved because the Wind and the Sun had a competition. One of them had to make the man take off his sweater. The Sun one, after the Wind was bragging that he was going to win. With this, I can infer that the theme can be 'Don't brag because things might not turn out the way you want to.' Another theme can be 'Sometimes being gentle is better than by force.' The Wind was bragging in the beginning of the fable. After he found out that he was defeated by the Sun, he wasn't so over-confident anymore.
