That morning, I overheard our coordinator talking to a teacher. Apparently, they’re splitting up some of the classes next trimester. Simply, there were too many students and not enough space. I didn’t catch all the details, but it sounded like some of the people from my class were getting moved to a different classroom. Which meant that Mari and I might not be in the same class anymore. And of course, she was ignoring her phone like she always does. I tried calling her but I had no answer. Texted her. Left on read.

At this point, I was thinking of what I could do to catch her attention. So I played dirty. I sent this message to her: “Hey, the boy you like is here.”

In no time, she showed up in front of me, out of breath and looking around looking for the boy. “Where is he?” she asked. I explained that he wasn’t really there but I needed to talk to her. She rolled her eyes at me and I thought "if looks could kill."

I always drive calmly and carefully to avoid any accidents. However, that day, something very strange happened.

As I was nearing the place where the courts are located, a man suddenly appeared in front of my car, forcing me to brake hard. I thought to myself, "I need to drive more carefully; I'm almost there." I started paying even more attention to the road. But that wasn't the end. When I was practically stopping the car, a small dog crossed the street right in front of me, and I had to brake suddenly again. Unfortunately, the car behind me couldn't stop in time and hit my car. It happened in no time. Thankfully, the dog was unharmed, and the damage to my car was minimal.
