I am influenced by Noonan's work in the album Polyserena. I'm drawn to its unique yet distinct 2000s sound. Noonan, being a trained opera singer, uses her wide vocal range to create intense harmonies, something I wish to also create in my music. The use of Reverb, delay, synths and the genre fusion of Rock, Funk, and Jazz work together to create a whimsical vibe that I love.

Katie Noonan is a big fan of Jeff Buckley's work. After watching him live in 1996 and purchasing his album Grace had great influence on Noonan. She appreciates his uniqueness, even describing his music as "magical". “Jeff Buckley and that album, oh my god, I still listen to it and think it’s a complete masterpiece.” (Zane, 2013)

Joni Mitchell

It was the book “My People” by Oodgeroo Noonuccal that Noonan fell in love with her writing style. Oodgeroos poetry and the deep messages behind her work are a major influence to the complex lyrics that Noonan creates “I just fell in love with her poetry. That kind of started a lifelong fascination with First Nations culture." (Brian, 2019)

I am influenced by the distorted instruments, layered raw vocals and harmonies in MCR. The Guitar solos performed by Ray Toro are also influential. The range of fast and aggressive songs to slower ones is an emotive range that influence my song writing. There song structure is also an inspiration.

Iron Maiden

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Way explains how Iron Maiden's Life after death influenced his music making. "I listened to that thing for five years straight.” (Christian 2007) They were one of the bands to introduce distorted guitars and harsh vocals. Their stage performance was also influential to Way and a big reason he wished to perform live.

The Smashing Pumpkins

Gerard Way took inspiration from David Bowie's stage persona, Ziggy Stardust, When constructing the idea of The Black Parade. Way states "I was looking up to my heroes when I was constructing that.
