Kahoot is an interactive game tool perfect for synchronous learning environments. Teachers can find or create games to have students practice nearly any skill, or have students create games to quiz each other. This is an excellent tool for students to use to create games in groups or independently to show mastery of the learning. It also differentiates through a student's ability to choose the difficulty level of the question set, and it is a fantastic way to build relationships in the classroom through engagement.

This tool aligns with the ISTE standard 1.5.c, decomposing problems, and 1.6.a, choosing platforms and tools.

An interactive whiteboard, such as a SMARTboard, TIBURN, or EUNIVON is a great interactive tool for in-person synchronous learning, but does have challenges for asynchronous learning environments. In the classroom, this is a wonderful tool as a high-tech replacement for the previously replaced chalkboard. With this tool, a teacher has access to just about any electronic-based lesson. When used well, it encourages hands-on learning for students, collaboration, makes learning more convenient for the teacher, and can increase engagement between the teacher and the students. It can also make lessons more colorful and fun, as there are innumerable options for lesson presentation. It also provides opportunities for differentiation as text type can increase in size as needed, passages can be read aloud, and lots of color and movement can support students with visual needs.

Supports ISTE standards 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, and 1.6, based on use and ability of the users.

Edpuzzle is a platform for learning that allows teachers to create lessons with videos, audio, and question sets to enhance student learning and engagement in the classroom. This platform can be used quite effectively in an asynchronous learning environment because it allows students to listen to a lesson, engage in activities to practice and learn material, and is available whenever students are ready to learn, no matter the hour or day. This tool allows for differentiation of learning through video content, and everything written can have an audio track to support student needs. Analytics are available for the teacher to review to support students as they engage in the lessons independently or with peer groups. Project-based learning is supported on this platform as students can post material in their own accounts and work cooperatively to develop an artifact of learning.

One fun way to integrate this tool is to have students take a unit of study and create their own lessons using audio, video, or written content to teach their peers as a study guide.

This tool allows for students to enjoy hands-on thinking experiences and explorations without requiring the teacher to have an expanded budget for in-class materials. This tool engages students through inquiry and experimentation, encouraging both students that love learning as well as students that don't. STEM problems are available on this platform, encouraging students in real-world situations and simulations. Even students that require differentiation and extra scaffolding can use and learn from this tool. This tool can support project-based learning through gamification and exploration, and teammates can use trial and error to develop different results from the simulations.

This tool supports ISTE standards 1.1, 1.3, and 1.4.
