An increased access to information has changed consumer expectations.

E.g An analogy of a car dealer providing consumers information regarding the car to convince them to purchase the car. Fast forward to now, we can look at the car information ourselves and determine our own purchasing power.

Consumers now have to be fulfilled instead of being empowered to expect. Making orders on demand. (Information Highway vs My Way Highway)

E.g Customized Goods, Faster Production Lines for consumers

This makes up an economy that is constantly on-demand.

Industry - Retail
The uprising of information has made retailing more streamlined. Consumers now expect information on retail products online to be accurate to that of information in the physical stores itself. Retail product delivery has to be fast and efficient

Identify one app that you use getting information/updating information online that you would not be able to perform on a website.
Grab. With the Grab App, I am able to flag for a ride regardless of where I am, for reasonable prices. These features are not available on Grab's website @https://www.grab.com/sg/

From this app, list the category, features, what functions do you use and why, what you like about it as compared to other competitors.
The grab app is extremely direct, with the landing screen after logging in the screen to book for rides. It is also extremely easy to understand with location prompters such as auto filling your current location and having a "Where are you going" fill. Navigation on the app is clear cut as

One feature that the app has are pop-up offers, for users who are looking for rides, having a cheaper alternative on the stop is satisfying.

Functions that I use in the Grab app are GrabPay (1), GrabRewards(2), Schedules(3) and Notifications(4).
(1) allows me to put my credit card information so that paying would be just as simple as a tap. It makes it more convenient for me to take rides. (2) is a grab loyalty program that allows me to make use of my rides to get exclusive discounts. (3) lets me schedule my rides and makes sure I don't miss my rides. (4) alerts me when there is a promotion or ride arrival.

When compared to it's competitor app, Uber, their landing screen is similar, prompting us to book for rides. However, there is not as much incentives such as discount pop-ups, and a loyalty programme, but instead is replaced with a refer a friends feature to secure free rides. In my opinion, the Grab app is more user friendly and it appeals to me as a user.
