Unfortunately a chrome book alone does not provide enough assistance to warrant not using a desktop (connectivity, storage, etc)

Having iPads would be quicker, have less issues, and be just as efficient as having desktops for student use. I was not sure if this was a topic of conversation right now, but something first grade would be highly interested in.

Everything ranging from connectivity and storage to students messing with desktop icons, opening too many tabs, etc.

There is a ridiculous formula that determines if you get a laptop. Traveling is not a guarantee to get a laptop. 

The desktop may not be able to go away in a shared classroom situation though.

Ideally not a Chromebook as they are so limiting on what you can do.
I cannot even count the number of times that I work on something at one school and forget to send it to myself to continue working at another school.

There are several situations that I find it to be extremely helpful with meetings and working in small groups in order to . I find there are a lot of situations in which the Chromebook is limited because of the inability to do certain things that a device with storage would be able to do.
