I can assume that in both books, when they go to gather food instead of buying it, they either have a lack of money, want to save money, do it for tradition, or maybe all of the reasons.

My connection is going to be Happy in the story A different pond. The main character felt happy and proud that he got to go out with his dad to help catch fish and get wood for a campfire. He also was proud when he got to take care of his siblings and help set up the table. My connection to the trait is when my dad taught me how to fish when I was on a trip with my friend. My dad tried his hardest to teach me even when he really didn’t get it at all. We still caught a lot of fish that day and it was really fun doing it. Family is shown in Watercress when the mom told the story of her and her brother and in “A different pond” the brother went fishing with his dad every night for his family.

I agree that family is important because they’ve been with you for almost your entire life and I remember how scared I was when I heard my dad was having surgery.

       When I went to Florida for my baby cousins baptism I had to wear a dress so i was like alright but then after the baptism we went out for the party. It was at a pizza place and i was really embarrassed to be wearing the dress in public.
