She doesn't say outright that she wants to get married, but she insinuates it.

The purpose of the text is firstly to inform about her own culture and how it is to date indian men and westerne men. Secondly to entertain by seeing the funny side her dating life and of her parents expectations.
examples:
' my mother herself- like to say of arranged marriage," it's not that there isn't love. It's just that it comes after the marriage". -p.146.
my parents believe there are only two legitimate professions: doctor and engineer( not medicine and engineering, but doctor and engineer). p.143.
'It's a common online-dating complaint that people are noting like their profiles. ..... p.145 l.10- 18.

Anita Jain starts her article, where she tells us about how her father and his traditions, and view on how marriage is suppose to be. It starts with an email she gets to her father from a boys father, so this tells us that it's from a dating website. It's a confusing opening because we don't get a presentation of the characters and what the article really is about, thats why it's not a good opening.
