This stage is when a child is learning to trust people giving them care to feel safe and secure.

In Jaycee's life at stage she had a hard time trusting others caregivers that weren't her parents and eventually over time as the caregivers built up the trust with her she didn't cry and as much anymore.

Autonomy vs Shame & Doubt

This stage is when children start to gain a little independence and they begin to make simple decisions about what they prefer.

Jaycee at this stage stated to make choices like dressing herself. So she put on pajamas, rain boots and a life jacket as an outfit. She eventually began to understand that she could wear anything, but she had to be practical about.

Initiative vs Guilt

This stage is when children begin to assert their power and control over the world through directing play and other social interactions.

In Jaycee's life at this stage she had a race car bed that she didn't like the color of and so she took some markers and colored it wanting to show her creativeness and she felt guilty for doing it when she got in trouble. She eventually learned how to play and show her creativity without ruining things.

Industry vs Inferiority

This stage is when children begin to develop a sense of pride in their accomplishments and abilities.

Jaycee at this stage in her life found out she was really good at academics and reading. Her school had a reading competition where the winners get to go on a trip to the book store and pick out books and she was one of the winners.

Identity vs Confusion

This stage is when children developing a sense of personal identity which will continue to influence behavior and development for the rest of a person's life.

Jaycee at this stage in her life was battling with the love of academics and her friends. She spent so much time focused on school and her friends spent more time socializing and she was trying to find a balance to spending more time with them while still focusing on school and eventually she just found a way to balance it by making sure she got done all she needed to for school and then socialize.

Intimacy vs Isolation

This is the stage in early adulthood when people begin to start to really exploring personal relationships. Its important that young adults form intimate, loving relationships with other people.

Jaycee was in a long term relationship for a great deal of time and when things did not work out between them she began to isolate herself a bit. Eventually she pulled herself out of that and is in a healthy and happy relationship.

Generativity vs Stagnation

In this stage of life we continue to build our lives, focusing on our career and family and adults need to create or nurture things that will outlast them, often by having children or creating a positive change that benefits other people.

Jaycee is optimistic about the future and feels she may deal with some stagnation, but will always make sure she gives back and helps, she also wants a family to care for in the future.

Integrity vs Despair

In this stage of life is mainly focused on reflecting back on life, back on the events of their lives and determine if they are happy with the life that they lived or if they regret the things they did or didn't do.

Jaycee I feel like she’ll be wise and probably will make sense of a lot of life and be happy with her life and all the things she’s accomplished.
