I think that we should all keep in mind that this is a touchy topic and we should respect the people who went through it all. I also think it is crazy that Mr. Frank was the only one who got out of the Death Camps, since he was the oldest and he wasn't as useful to the Nazis. I am surprised that it wasn't someone else in the family or friends that were in the Secret Annex.

Then when the camera jumps to the bookcase being broken down. My takeaway from The Diary of Anne Frank was the fact that even though I knew about the Holocaust, the play told me so much more about how difficult it was as a Jew. I loved how it told us unique details about their living environment and true struggles and made me feel like I was truly there fighting the life too. It left me thinking about the other Jews and other killed lives that were sacrificed during that time and how lots of people went through, if not completely worse than Anne and it leaves you with the view of how they would have never guessed that people would be killed just because someone didn't like them and how we could be living a completely life and we could something terrible could happen to us.

My favorite character was Peter, not a lot of people liked/cared about Peter but I thought he was a great character. Even though he was annoyed with Anne most of the time, I understand. You truly have to think about how you would act in this circumstance. I think that Peter was simply just in a defence mode. I don't think that he was like Anne because he saw the realization of things and knew that they might not get out alive while Anne always looked on brighter sides. I don't think Peter was a constant downer but he lost most of his teenage years because of the Holocaust. He was most definitely depressed because of everything but I think that he was a strong person and a the fact that Anne had a friend/companion in the Annex.

One thing that I took away from this was how incredible it was that Anne had hope for humanity. The Nazis hated the Jews and treated them so horrible. The police went out of their way even after most of the Jews had been captured. I just thought that it was amazing that after all she went through she still thought people were good at heart.

I was thinking about what happened to everyone after they got caught and how each of them died, or how mr frank got like out of the camps and back to the secret Annex.

My biggest takeaway is that you should make the most of any situation that you are in. Although they were stuck in the Annex for 2 years, they tried to make it as fun and as happy as an environment as they could. The part that I am left thinking about is how they didn't try to fight back or run away when they were getting captured. I believe though, that they knew it was the end so they didn't try to fight it.
