    • WA Police seize over 200 animals after driver pulled over for speeding


    • WA Police have seized more than 200 animals from a suspected smuggling operation after intercepting a car on the border of WA and South Australia late last week.
    • Officers were patrolling Eyre Highway near Eucla, about 1200km east of Perth, on Thursday when they pulled a car over for speeding.A search of the vehicle found 15 large bags and 15 plastic containers and bottles – all containing about 198 reptiles, 16 marsupials, three cockroaches and two spiders.

    • Small bags were found placed on top of each other, with several of the animals already dead due to the cramped conditions.
