It's certainly that development of robots has been improving throughout the time and it's important to keep on it to take advantage of it, despite they can be used for many things I disagree about using them for environmental clean ups it sounds appealing because it's a serious problem in the world but I think robots would be capable of radicathing this problem  less problem such as nuclear radiation due to machines with radiation do not fit. However, they can perform some tasks alike that can be helpful for the environment, a benefit I see in a short-term is Robots eliminate the hazardous problem that are done by humans being done by them.

In mi personal opinion I agree with the autor when he says that the robots could help us in the search and rescue missions and environmental cleanup, but I disagree with the autor when he says that robots could help us to prevent disaster. Robots can't help us with the oil spills because of that action only can be done by humans, in the oil cleanup there are processes that the robots can't do like the hydrocarbon removal, and in the Fukushima's nuclear disaster, the robots couldn't be of much help because of the radiation. Radiation can make a lot of damage to the electronic circuits.

The author is very hopeful about the future of robotics. He focused his research in finding a way to use robots for rescue missions and environmental cleanups, he uses some examples to show how useful robots will get to be in a few years if government agencies keep supporting his research, he says that by the end of this century robots will be working on almost all continents without people even realizing it.
