Keynote, pages and numbers let you work on a variety of documents. You can create a presentation on Keynote, create a brochure on Pages, or quickly track your grades on Numbers.

The interface is similar, meaning you can easily pivot from app to another. While exploring further more advance features innate in each app.

And you can add media elements in there seamlessly to help you build multi-modal experiences for the user.

Adding languages

You can add different language keyboards to your iPad.

Go to Settings
Tap on General on the left sidebar
On the right menu, look for Keyboard and tap on it
At the top, tap on Keyboards
Next, tap on Add New Keyboard...
You can now select the language you want to add e.g. Chinese, Simplified -> Pinyin - QWERTY

How to change the language for your iPad

If you prefer to interact with your iPad in a different language altogether, you can by follow the steps below. Bear in mind that this changes the default language on your iPad.

If you are just looking to switch between typing in different languages, go to adding Keyboards below

Go to Settings
Tap on General on the left sidebar
On the right menu, look for Language and Region
Under Preferred Languages, tap on Add Language
You can now select your preferred language
To switch to another language, follow the steps 1-3 above in the native language, and tap on the other installed languages

You can easily use the look up function by selecting text in Safari for instance, and check for its pronunciation and meaning.

Double tap on the text and select the word(s) on the screen, e.g. in a web page
Tap on Look Up
You should see a the meaning of the text appear

Why PDFs?

PDFs help you retain the formatting of a particular document you would like to keep or share.

You can also annotate on them as you wish.

That said, it is a great way to digitise copies of your worksheet either by converting directly from the app you are using to scanning hardcopies. Take a look below to see how you can create PDFs with a few gestures.

Merging PDFs via the Files App

Using the Files App, you can easily combine multiple PDF documents together.

In the Files App, go to where your PDFs are located
Tap on Select on the top (one the left of the search option)
A circle will appear on the individual file. Tap on the required files
Tap on More, on the bottom right off the screen
Then tap on Create PDF to combine the PDFs together
Tap on the title on the file to rename.
Optional - If you prefer to sequence of the PDFs, in the combined pdf document, Tap and hold on the page on the left of the sidebar, and drag it to the right position. Then let go.

Removing backgrounds

With iOS 16, you can now remove backgrounds from an image with a simple tap on the photo.

With drag and drop, I can pull a central image in a photo into messages, emails. my notes, keynotes...tons of use. All without having to navigate to another app to remove the background. Give it a go!

Going Further - Managed AppleID

Managed Apple IDs are different from Personal Apple IDs.

Managed means the IDs created are administered by the school for students/teachers/supervisors. With it, comes 200Gb of iCloud storage to sync and save your data.

It would also mean that the account will cease once the individual leaves the school.

We will be happy to have that conversation with you and look at the best option going forward.
