at least 75 words

Grey’s anatomy is a medical drama of 20 seasons that talks about the life of Meredith Grey, a surgical intern in a hospital in Seattle. Meredith starts her long journey with 4 other interns:Christina, Alex,George and Izzie; other than them several other characters were in the show and have joined it in the following seasons like Dr. Derek Sheperd, a neurosurgeon who falls in love with Meredith and ends up marrying her, Lexie Grey, Meredith’s sister but neither one of them knew one another, and many others that it would be to long to list.A lot of things happen during these twenty seasons, for example shootings or bombing or fires, also in season 17 it’s depicted how doctors in hospitals lived and felt during the covid19. Other than these disasters they show many different medical cases, going from the most common fever to rare diseases and strange clinical cases, for example they showed a man whose body was almost fully covered in warts or a woman who suffered form Lazarus Syndrome, which means she died for a few hours then suddenly her heart started beating again on its own when she was at the morgue. Of course, being a medical drama, love stories are a crucial part of the series, the most famous one is the one between Meredith and Derek, but there are others just as beautiful and as romantic, like Lexie and Mark’s or Jackson and April’s. All these couples have their own touching and heartbreaking endings, Derek dies so Meredith is left alone with their children, both Mark and Lexie die together during a plane crash, Jackson and April divorced, then reunited, after losing their first son who had osteogenesis imperfecta. So, Grey’s anatomy it’s an amazing show which is a perfect mixture of entertainment and medical culture.

How did you feel about your first rotation? What ward were you in?

Who did you work with? How did you feel at the end of your first shift?

I did my first internship in trauma ward. At the beginning I wasn’t very happy about this ward because I thought that I wouldn’t see interesting things. Despite that the first day I was very excited beacuse I was about to realize my dream of entering the ward. I was exited for sure, but I was also scared to find out that I wouldn’t like this type of job. Walking trough the corridor of the ward for the first time was weird. Looking inside the romms I felt a particular feeling of sadness, but this feeling soon vanished because I felt in my place. During the first day my tutor showed me a lot of things that I didn’t understand because everything was new for me, so because of that I needed some days to figure out what I was doing. During my first rotation I felt mixed emotions but luckily in the ward with me there was my friend arianna always ready to support me and help me.

A man has an illness and a student nurse receives instructions from a paramedic on how to act. The patient has a cardiac arrest, the student nurse checks his pulse, but there is none and the man isn’t breathing. So because of that the paramedic gives her the instructions to do CPR: the nurse has to give mouth to mouth first, support his head, hold his nose closed, open his mouth and breathe strongly into it and give two or four breaths into it; but it doesn’t work. So the paramedic said to turn the patient’s head and that the nurse has to put a hand on his chest and the other hand on the top of her first hand, after that she had to push a little and then release, she has to repeat the procedure fifteen times. But again there is no pulse, so they use the AED, they set the charge on the defibrillator at 200, the nurse applies the pads above and below his heart. After the sentence “Everybody clear” the nurse activates the defibrillator but there is still no pulse. So the paramedic said to the nurse to repeat the procedure, after that the patients responded and the nurse gave him Lidocaine, 100 ml over two minutes.

Write 100-150 words.

Since I was a child I’ve known that I would like to work in a hospital in the future. In the first six years of my life I went very often to the hospital because I had to do some exams to clarify my clinical situation; and since that moment I’ve always been fascinated by this world. I remember that while I was waiting form my turn I watched the nurses pass through the corridors attracted by their uniforms and their hooves, dreaming about being one of them one day. One year for Christmas my mum gave me a doctor’s kit and a nurse’s uniform and my favorite pastime became taking care of my dolls. When I was 17 I had two surgeries and I spent some days in hospital. During this time I understood how important is the role of the nurse, because in the hospital is the person who really takes care of the patients. So I decided to be a nuerse to help people to feel better in a difficult moment of their life and to try to make them smile when it seems impossible.
