Our school is called Colegiul National ,,Andrei Muresanu” . CNAM is part of the Romanian state education. It was founded one hundred years ago, having a long tradition.
Our school is situated in the centre of the town. It is made up of three buildings: the old, traditional building, the new building(with many classrooms , labs and a library) and the third building (the school canteen downstairs and the boarding school upstairs).

School Profile

Our school is the 2nd General Lyceum of Thebes. It is quite big, consisting of 240 students and 26 teachers, almost all of which belong to the regular staff and there are 6 supplementary teachers. All the students of the 1st Grade are taught all the subjects but in the next two Grades they are divided into three sections depending on what the students wish to study:

• Humanitarian Studies

• Science and Technological Studies

• Economics Studies

Over the last years our school has taken part in various environmental programs like a tree planting program that was realized in the nearby forest area of our town. What is more, our school is planning to design the exterior spaces of our school with the students of our school taking part in gardening and tree planting programs.

Besides the environmental programs, our school has carried out cultural programs and consequently our students have developed environmental and cultural awareness and have been motivated to work on these topics. It has also taken part in various competitions and has even won the third prize nationwide in a Robotics competition with a great construction/project on the part of the students’ team.

Our school is also sensitized towards the problems of the local community and has done voluntary work raising money for the underprivileged people of the area. The students were actively involved in this program and in this way, we are trying to make them realize the importance of social contribution and help them become active members of the society.
