El Nino is caused from time to time of warm water in the Central and Eastern Pacific Ocean. There is usually a pool of warm water that's in the Western Pacific, that's because of how the Earth tuns and winds blow. Water piles up in the Western part of the basin. The sea level around Indonesia and the Philippines is higher about 50 to 60 centimeters than what it is in Peru. So what happens is the winds keep blowing, the water piles up and heats up the Western part of the Pacific. But once in a while the wind weakens and the warm water slashes to the Eastern and Central Pacific. Where the warm water is, is where you get the evaporated process, and the clouds that make the rain.
