Witnessing how the parents must wear smiling masks everyday resembles the way in "Brave New World" everyone is forced to never feel negative emotions. The book and the short film imply that the people only have one purpose and that it's to work. Where Brave New World has people who love to work and nothing else, Model Citizen works the people until they're old and are killed.

One thing that stood out to me through how both model citizen and brave new world when humans reach a certain age are left with no meaning and are killed and in model citizen and how in brave new world the citizens die at a certain age to keep the view of youth and beauty and both represent how people only seen as usefully when they are young.
