1) Each trimester all grades will create a word wall to develop students understanding of the complex words using in GAT. These words are challenging as they are old and not used commonly.

2) These words can then be used to develop a root word tree where students search the words origin and use in English and add it to a tree on the display board.

3) This will be extended to have students use the words in sentences to create thoughtful quotes that can be displayed.

4) The quotes can then be used to create visual representations of the ideas being expressed by the words and quotes that can also be displayed in the classroom.

5) Grades 10-12 will complete practice comprehension questions from the GAT textbook and past exams. These can be done as a Do Now activity.

6) English will continue to practice reading comprehension but under timed conditions with a focus on exam skills including, skimming, scanning and reading the question before reading to enhance their ability to respond to questions. They get 80 seconds to answer a question so timing them will assist in their skills at responding quickly and with efficiency.

7) English will create short 5 question quizzes to expose students to GAT twice a trimester in grades 7-12. These questions will be explored as a "do Now" activity with low stakes. This quizzes can be explained as a reflection activity to gauge understanding.

8) Grades 10-12 - Explore thematic ideas commonly presented in the GAT tests and connect them to the themes explored in the units throughout the year. Create small discussion groups to make the connections and then create quizzes that test their understanding.
