You are reviewing the strengths in a team meeting and the team is having a hard time staying strengths and team based. This has been a consistent challenge throughout the planning process. Core team members have had discussions with individual team members and the family to reorient them to strengths-based language. The WCC has taken breaks during meetings and used breakout rooms when virtual. These strategies work intermittently and briefly though it continues to be a chronic issue.

The team agreed to focus on the youth's chosen future career as a goal to promote motivation and positive change, though it does not seem to be motivating, which is frustrating the team. The WCC expressed the goal can not be accomplished within the time frame of Wraparound and may feel too far off for the youth to feel motivated by it. He does not yet have trust in the Wraparound process or his team members and because of this, he is not always honest with the team.

You have been working with the team to identify the heart of the need to create a needs statement. Though you have attempted to explain what that means the team continues to focus on challenging behaviors and offering strategies, the WCC has concluded that the team is either not understanding what a need is, or feel their true concern is not being addressed by the heart of the need. The core team feels the conversation is "going in circles" and progress is not being made.

Ron is consistently disrespectful and intentionally uses he/him pronouns when referring to Star. Core team members have talked with him individually, as well as provided general reminders in the meeting both of which were successful in the moment, though it continues to be a consistent challenge in the meetings.

Upon returning from the break, when the facilitator attempts to start back at the agenda item they left off at, the family quickly becomes dysregulated again and is having a hard time following the group agreements and principles while expressing their thoughts and feelings

The team has suggested Marcus’ (he/him) prescribed c-pap machine when brainstorming strategies to support emotional regulation (helps his sleep). He has repeatedly expressed not wanting to use it for various reasons. Core team members have reminded the team that Marcus is of legal age to make his own medical decisions and recommended tabling this strategy until other strategies have been considered. Team members continue to bring it up throughout various meetings causing the youth to become frustrated and feel like his voice does not matter.
