Judges 4:6

Deborah was the one leading the Isrealites so she sent Barak to take with him ten thousand men of Naphtali and Zebulun and lead them up to Mount Tabor.

Significance:

Finally the last stage takes place; God, as a merciful and forgiving father, raises a leader to defend Israel before their oppressors. In this case, Deborah became the ruler, judge, and leader of the Israelities. Along with her, a new episode started for the Israelities in which God helped them, yet this is also the last stage of the vicious cycle that will continue later on in this book.

Judges 4:8-10

Barac didn’t want to go alone so he asked Deborah to go with him. Deborah agreed but because of the course he is taking, the honor will not be his, for the Lord will deliver Sisera into the hands of a woman. There Barak summoned Zebulun and Naphtali, and ten thousand men went up under his command. Deborah also went up with him.

Significance:

This event highlights Deborah’s leadership and her mutual trust with Barak. Deborah saying that the glory would go to a woman foreshadows the end of Sisera. It is significant to Israel because it shows that God can bring deliverance through unexpected means and emphasizes Israel's reliance on divine intervention and not only on human strength. It is important to say that Deborah’s leadership in this whole story challenges traditional gender roles and demonstrates how God uses whoever is faithful to him.
