A formative assessment is an assessment that helps measure the student's ability to understand the topic. Some examples include raising whiteboards, participation by sticks, and other group projects. An example recently was doing the practice quiz about stem changing verbs. Also, the El Poema is another recent formative assessment about our understanding of responses and adjectives. Visual aids like websites and posters are very appealing to me.

This helps with problem solving which I think, personally, is a very vital skill to know for many classes.

1. Formative assessment refers to a wide variety of methods that teachers use to conduct in-process evaluations of student comprehension, learning needs, and academic progress during a lesson, unit, or course. Formative assessments help teachers identify concepts that students are struggling to understand, skills they are having difficulty acquiring, or learning standards they have not yet achieved so that adjustments can be made to lessons, instructional techniques, and academic support.

2. Some formative assessments we have done that have been fun and helpful are pbl group project that involve different skills that we have learned in class and applying them to other skills like public speaking, group collaboration, making the world a better place, and thinking critically to work on something in a way that fits everyone in the group and creating something good. I have done these and gained life skills that I still use.

3. I usually learn best with my hands and working with stuff rather than listening or seeing. I would like to do something fun like that that doesn't just evolve reading or listening and involves me finding stuff out and figuring things out on my own. I learn really well like that.

A. A formative assessment is an assessment that is given to students, it is for the teacher to understand their learning level.

B. Peer/self reviews can allow the teacher to see what the student needs to understand more and know what they need to work on. The student can then also see what they need to work on. An example in our own spanish class would be writing answers on whiteboards and hold them up, the teacher can then see what you need help on and she can also tell you what you need help on.
